Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies AIAS was founded in 1998, to meet the demand of students wishing to study Ayurveda, the complementary health science of India.

In 1999, under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. S. Ajit, (B.A.M.S., P.C.A.S.), the Institute recognized the need to establish a quality assurance model of service delivery by becoming an RTO (Registered Training Organisation), delivering a nationally recognized qualification in Ayurveda.

🌿 Menopause Through an Ayurvedic Lens

Menopause is not simply a single moment or an isolated set of symptoms. In Ayurveda, it is understood as part of a natural transition in a woman’s life—one that invites us to look at the body, mind and lifestyle as a whole.

The years leading up to menopause can be an important time to pause and reflect:

✨ How have we been nourishing ourselves?
✨ How have we been resting and recovering?
✨ How have we supported our digestion and Agni?
✨ How have we managed physical and emotional demands?
✨ What is our body asking for at this stage of life?

Ayurveda encourages us to look beyond individual symptoms and consider the interconnected nature of Agni, Doshas, Srotas and Dhatus. As the qualities of life change, we may notice changes in our cycles, sleep, skin, hair, mood, energy and overall sense of balance.

Rather than viewing each experience separately, Ayurveda invites us to ask a deeper question:

What is changing within the whole system, and how can we support the body through that change? 🌿

Nourishment, balance and wellbeing are not only considerations after menopause. Ayurveda encourages us to begin supporting the body well before and throughout this transition.
