Taking a moment to appreciate the massive success of our Pink Ribbon fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation this October...

This year, SUWIE managed to achieve a landmark amount of over $4000 in donations, which was triple both our initial fundraising goal and our previous year's impact!

We couldn't have achieved any of this without all the support and hard-work from our community, so our biggest thanks go out to everyone who baked, helped cook, and of course, to everyone who donated, big or small, to our page.
We also want to thank the University of Sydney's Faculty of Engineering Student Life Team for their support with this event.

After this year's success, we can't wait to see how this fundraiser can grow even bigger and better in years to come.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Sunday, 9 November 2025 at 11:59pm HKT

INSIGHT has three different program tracks you can apply for:

📊 Trading & Research 📊 (5 - 7 January) —
Learn about mathematical and financial topics such as probability, market structure, and arbitrage through a combination of short lectures, group games, and mock trading sessions.

💻 Software Engineering 💻 (7 - 9 January) —
Learn about OCaml, the libraries and tools we use in our daily work, and put them to use building a computer game. Practice technical communication skills, problem-solving techniques, and software engineering interview skills, and learn the fundamentals of electronic trading systems and build programs that trade on simulated stock exchanges.

📈 Strategy and Product 📈 (5 - 7 January) —
Get a glimpse into the work that goes on in Jane Street's Strategy and Product Internship and rotational program. Case studies and problem-solving exercises introduce how they optimise funding and financing, set up new trading flows, respond to regulatory inquiries, and generally manage the complex mechanics that underlie Jane Street’s business.

On Thursday next week, the 30th of October, SUWIE is incredibly excited to host a 🎀 Pink Ribbon Day 🎀 to raise funds to support the life-saving work of the National Breast Cancer Foundation!

We have lots planned for the morning, including...
- A barbecue breakfast on the engineering lawns for everyone who has donated over $10 🍳
- A bake sale on Gadigal Green 🧁
As well as a few extra exciting things in the works!

Well you're in luck because there are THREE ways that you can help:

2. BAKE!!
Got a killer cupcake recipe and in need of a study break? Well we need you to help us out by whipping out your whisks and donating some baked goods to our bakesale! Just make sure to fill in the Bake Sale Form linked below so we know what you're bringing in!

Last WIELEAD of the semester, WIELEAD #5 next Wednesday!
Our last WIELEAD is with Sydney Water! Join us at 10am - 11am to get involved in the discussion! 💧

‼️ IMPORTANT CHANGE TO PEP HOURS ‼️
With the recent changes to the PEP program, in order to be eligible to receive automatic PEP hours for ALL WIELEADS going forward, ACTIVE PARTICIPATION is expected!
This means:
- Camera on! This is an absolute MUST!
- Ask questions in the chat/over video!

If we cannot verify that you have done these, we will be unable to award you the full/any PEP hours.

PEP is also being awarded on an hour for hour basis, so zoom attendance now only equates to ONE HOUR of attendance. You must also have attended AT LEAST TWO other WIELEADS to receive any hours at all.
This is to reflect the revised PEP scheme.

TL:DR
5 WIELEADS = 5 hours
3 WIELEADS = 3 hours
