A cuppa to celebrate our learners ☕

This National Skills Week, we joined ACE providers across NSW to recognise the skills, confidence and experience our students are building every day.

At our Mount Druitt campus, our classes took a moment to come together, enjoy a cuppa and celebrate the commitment our learners bring to their studies.

Adult and Community Education plays an important role in helping people build practical skills, prepare for work, continue learning and take their next step with confidence.

To our students — thank you for learning, growing and being part of the MCC community. 💛

Returning to study after several years away can feel like a big step — especially when you are building confidence in another language.

For Maryam, studying English at Macquarie Community College has become a new beginning.

After a long break from learning, Maryam returned to the classroom to improve her speaking and communication skills. She is now studying Intermediate Spoken and Written English at MCC Epping campus.

Along the way, she has grown more confident speaking English, made new friends and found encouragement from her teacher and classmates.

Her goal is to continue improving her English and one day study to become a dental assistant.

“Don’t be afraid to start, even if you are not confident with your English. Just give it a try and keep practising.”

Maryam’s course was supported through the NSW Government’s Adult and Community Education (ACE) Program, helping eligible learners build skills for further study, work and everyday life.

Another great digital skills session with members of the Maltese seniors community. 📱

With guidance from our tutor David, participants explored the many things a smartphone can do—from staying connected with family and friends to using helpful everyday features with greater confidence.

The workshop was practical, relaxed and full of questions, conversation and laughter.

We are proud to continue working with Maltese Welfare NSW and local Maltese seniors groups to create useful, accessible learning opportunities for older community members.

Macquarie Community College welcomes partnerships with community organisations, seniors groups and service providers interested in bringing similar workshops to the people they support.

Get in touch with our team to discuss future collaboration opportunities.
