Artist and choreography lecturer Anca Frankenhaeuser presents From Me to You, a special solo created in collaboration with second-year student .

“When invited to create a solo with Kevin, it was immediately clear that it had to be with him rather than for him. The work emerges from Kevin’s responses to a series of diverse tasks—revealing a striking range of dynamics, from subtle vulnerability to intense power.”

A work grounded in trust, collaboration, and embodied expression.

We are thrilled to present a solo by dance technique lecturer — an Italian, Sydney-based contemporary dance artist, choreographer, and director of — in our upcoming season BETWEEN EARTH & SKY on May 1.

Fray is an attempt to come apart.
To remove something that won’t leave.
To shift out of a body that holds on.

It asks: what happens when we try to separate from something that is, ultimately, ours?

AMPA is proud to collaborate with alumna on this exciting creative project. Tianye recently opened her own dance studio, Kalirena Pointe, and is now fostering the professional development of AMPA graduates by providing valuable performance opportunities.

In a world defined by routine and constant noise, where is the space to simply be? The Art of Freedom is a visceral exploration of performance as a means of transcending the everyday—a celebration of resilience and the power of collaboration.

Choreographed by Elliot Bourke to the rhythmic complexity of Libertango by Astor Piazzolla, the work echoes the music’s layered intensity. Through intricate canon and expansive unison, the dancers navigate the delicate interplay between individual strength and collective unity.

“Art has the ability to transport both the performer and the audience beyond everyday reality… this piece creates a space where viewers can simply experience the present moment.”
— Elliot Bourke

The Art of Freedom will be featured as part of BETWEEN EARTH & SKY, 1st May at NIDA Playhouse Theatre.

In Two Minds is a contemporary dance work that explores the experience of cognitive dissonance-the strain of holding conflicting thoughts-and its impact on the individual. The piece traces a progression from intense rationalisation to an eventual point of emotional breakdown.

“Working on In Two Minds has been so insightful, not only have I had the opportunity to work with my incredible cast and see the ideas that I’ve had in my head develop in front of me, but I have also grown as a choreographer and collaborator, discovering new ways to overcome challenges and expand my creativity.” Bronte Roman, 2nd year student.

In Two Minds will be featured as part of AMPA's end-of-trimester show Between Earth & Sky on the 1st of May at NIDA Playhouse Theatre.
