We're delighted to welcome Professor Stefano Salemi as keynote speaker for the 2026 ACCS Research & Scholarship Conference.

Professor Salemi's academic work has taken him to institutions including Oxford, Harvard, Yale, King's College London and Jerusalem, and his research spans New Testament studies, Hebrew Bible and systematic theology.

His keynote will open two days of discussion exploring Wisdom for the Age of Anxiety, encouraging thoughtful Christian engagement with the challenges facing our communities today.

This month, we have been talking about the different ways education can prepare people to serve with purpose.

We have explored pathways for school leavers, the importance of personal student support and the value of practical training for people already serving in churches and communities.

The right starting point will not look the same for everyone.

For one person, it may be comparing courses in education or counselling.

For another, it may be exploring theology or ministry.

Some of the people who benefit most from ministry training are already serving every week.

They are leading small groups, helping with youth or children’s ministry, caring for people, preparing Bible studies and supporting the practical life of their church.

The Certificate IV and Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology are designed to bring greater structure and depth to that experience.

Students develop practical skills in understanding Scripture, communicating the gospel, caring for people and planning effective ministry activities while continuing to serve in their own communities.

Study does not need to replace ministry. It can strengthen it.
