Julian Knowles has just installed 3 new responsive audio-visual works as part of the exhibition 'This Visceral Landscape' at the Vancouver Arts Centre in WA. For the work 'Whispering Landscapes' below, Julian programmed custom software that will pull down live data from 5 weather stations surrounding the gallery, which are used to drive video processing on landscape video shot on location in Australia's South West as well as recomposing the soundtrack according to prevailing weather conditions. This is a series of investigations into the use of live internet data within algorithmic systems to make works responsive to their surroundings.

The exhibition runs through to September 17.
