This opening session will explore how Asia capability is currently framed within national policy and teacher education scholarship, particularly in response to the recent Parliamentary Inquiry into Asia capability and its implications for the sector.

It was an honour and a privilege to meet Professor Gungwu Wang AO again, and to hear his invaluable insights on history, civilisation, and culture. My sincere thanks to Professor Wang for taking the time to meet and for graciously autographing two of his recent books. I hope to have the opportunity to meet him again, and I wish him continued good health and happiness.
