The annual Indigenous Science Experience at Redfern is organised by Macquarie University's National Indigenous Science Education Program (NISEP). The event provides an opportunity to learn more about Indigenous Culture, including The Emu Dark Space and Indigenous Dance. How do native bees connect to healthy ecosystems and caring for Country? Which seaweeds are used for environmental sustainability? How is native flora used in bush medicines? What can we learn from Aboriginal tools and technology developed over thousands of years?

Come along Saturday August 22 for our Indigenous Science Experience @ Redfern Community Day. Engage with Bush to bowl Pty Ltd and Macquarie University’s Chiropractic team, along with many other fantastic presenters.
With Macquarie University’s Chiropractic Science students explore the human body with fun activities and interactive sessions. Learn how your bones, muscles, and joints team up to keep you moving. Discover exercises that help you stand tall, move with ease and improve balance.
Join Bush to bowl Pty Ltd for a hands-on experience in which you can touch, smell and taste native flavours. Bush to bowl Pty Ltd is a social enterprise aimed at creating a healing space and platform for First Nations people by connecting to Country and their traditional foodways.

Inspiring Australia - National Networks National Science Week

We are excited to have ANSTO's Indigenous Safety technicians and other ANSTO staff at the Indigenous Science Experience @ Redfern Community Day, August 22, for National Science Week. This year, ANSTO is highlighting how nuclear science and technology are used to support space science. There is an opportunity to join some fun activities on a space theme and learn how ANSTO helps protect technology and people from radiation in space. We have a Lego model of the Hubble Telescope and Artemis rocket to build and more. Our display will also highlight Indigenous people as Australia’s first astronomers. So, get ready to come to the Indigenous Science Experience and launch yourself to the stars.
