Do we have any pre-PhD university students who might be interested in a European summer research program?

Hey MUPAS members,

There's an amazing opportunity for anyone who is interested. The European Southern Observatory (ESO) has opened its doors after a long time, to host their Summer Research Programme. It is a fully-funded programme, of 6 weeks in duration and it is for university students interested in astronomy/astrophysics, who are not yet enrolled in a PhD programme. Check out all the links and details below.

IMPORTANT: If you are interested, you have to make it quick! You have less than 2 weeks to apply!

Dates: 3 July - 11 August 2023

Application deadline: 31st January 2023

To check out more details, click on this link: https://www.eso.org/sci/meetings/2023/SummerResearch2023.html

The research projects can be found here: https://www.eso.org/sci/meetings/2023/SummerResearch2023/projects.html

Research Programme content (yes, there's more!): https://www.eso.org/sci/meetings/2023/SummerResearch2023/program.html

Application procedure: https://www.eso.org/sci/meetings/2023/SummerResearch2023/application_procedure.html

Potential applicants are encouraged to read the ESO Blog article on the 2022 edition of the Summer Research Programme, as well as the experiences of two Australian students (Matthew Wilkinson from UQ in 2019, and Katy Proctor from UWA in 2020/21) who have previously participated in the ESO Summer Research Programme.

There you have it MUPAS! We wish success to anyone who applies! Let us know if you do!

Hi everyone..
I have a Meade super wedge for my lx200 I no longer need. It’s in Sydney and available for pick up. Study and heavy and not suitable for posting. Thought I would see if there are any members who might like/need it before I put it up for sale on ice in space $350.
