This morning’s Chapel was a bittersweet one as we gathered to pray for and thank Leanne Hill for her incredible contribution to our community over the past couple of years. We are deeply grateful for all she has brought to our Colleges and pray for God’s blessing as she begins this next chapter.

We also heard from our Co-Executive Principal, Michael Bräutigam, who reflected on one of Jesus’ first and most searching questions: “What are you seeking?” (John 1:38).

From humanity’s lost intimacy with God in Eden to Mary Magdalene’s encounter with the risen Christ, this question ultimately becomes: “Whom are you seeking?” (John 20:15).

Our deepest longing is not ultimately for achievement, success, relationships or even a better life, but for the God who made us, pursued us and loved us first. In Jesus, the way home has been opened, and we discover an identity grounded not in what we achieve, or even how well we love but in His extraordinary love for us.

Above all, we are the beloved of the Lord.

What place does prayer have in the busyness of study, work and everyday life?

In his latest Chapel message, “Prayer: No Longer a Footnote,” our Acting Co-Executive Principal, Andrew Pham, reflects on Jesus’ teaching in Luke 11:5–13.

Andrew encourages us to approach God boldly, pray persistently and trust in His goodness, even when the answer is unclear or seems slow to come.

“Whatever is on your heart, keep praying. Pray persistently and audaciously, knowing that God is good and that He loves you deeply.” — Andrew Pham

May prayer become more than an afterthought. May it remain at the heart of how we learn, serve and follow God in every part of life.

Eastern College Australia and TOV Academy (formerly AIFC) have partnered to create a clear pathway into postgraduate counselling study.

Students who complete the Graduate Diploma of Counselling with TOV Academy may receive up to 50% credit towards the Master of Counselling at Eastern College Australia, providing a seamless pathway into postgraduate study and professional counselling practice.

We began Chapel with a beautiful time of worship, followed by our Student Leader Georgia sharing about the heart of mission and how the Arthur Jeffery Centre is becoming a place where students are growing in their desire to step into missional work and deepen their understanding of ministry among Muslims.

We then heard a powerful message from Dr. Kirk Franklin:
“Revering our Treasure in Clay Jars.”
