Meeting Australia’s first female astronaut is an experience our students (and our own team) will never forget 🥹💙 You've shown our young people of Melbourne's West what STEM futures are possible for them in this world ...AND outside of it 🪐

Your passion for science and engineering had its own gravitational pull on our Wyndham Central College and Warringa Park School students as you shared your career journey so candidly. Thank you for taking the time to answer so many of their questions and encouraging them to reach for the stars 🤩

Sometimes all it takes is just one conversation to shift a young person's entire trajectory 🚀

A plant experiment turned into a pathway 🌱🥹 This year, we partnered with All Green Nursery & Garden to compare traditional farming vs. smart farming, and ended up growing new jobs for our Warringa Park School students!

Through our partnership, three students with diverse learning needs were invited to complete a 6-month paid work placement where they:

💚 got hands-on in All Green's traditional farm in Werribee South
💚 explored tech-powered farming in our Smart Farm
💚 gained confidence and independence
💚 experienced real work environments and routines
💚 discovered new possibilities for life after school that they may not have imagined before

A heartfelt thank you to Samuel Fragapane and the All Green team for opening your doors and showing what’s possible when local industry and education work together.

This is the kind of impact that can truly open up a young person's future 🤩

What happens when food, art, technology and community all come together? 🍲🤖✨ We partnered with Wyndham City and the creative team at Long Prawn to host their ‘Hat, Hand & Boot Hot Pot ‘, an interactive culinary art experience that transformed our building into a futuristic food lab.

Touring our Smart Farm and creating their own “future food” hot pot, diners explored Indigenous ingredients 🧢 synthetic proteins 🙏 food waste innovation 🥾 and the role technology plays in sustainable future food solutions.

This partnership brought our space to life in an entirely new way. Thank you Long Prawn for your playful and thought-provoking vision, and Wyndham City Council for supporting meaningful, future-focused experiences like this for our community 💚

210+ primary students 🤝 Robots 🤝 Indiana Jones vibes 🤠 3, 2, 1… LEGO®! Another one of our favourite events of the year: The FIRST LEGO League Regional Finals!

At just 10-11 years old, these young engineers designed, built and programmed their own robots to take on this year’s UNEARTHED™ challenge, working in teams to uncover hidden treasures and pitch their own archaeological innovations 🗺️ 🤩

A big thank you to:

📚 Victoria University, Melbourne Australia's Werribee Campus Library for transforming their space into our official Judging Sites
💛 Salesforce, Rocket Academy and Microsoft for volunteering as judges

Events like this spark curiosity, build confidence, and show young people just how exciting STEM can be. We couldn’t do this work without amazing partners like you 🥹

❤️‍🔥 “I was able to put myself in real word situations by finding sponsors and compromising with my teammates. This helped me prepare for life outside of school which is rare to learn in school classes.” - Year 8 student

❤️‍🔥 “I didn't know much about STEM but I loved the idea of creating stuff. Now I have skills in both graphic design and CAD. Prior to STEM Racing I wished to be a graphic designer. However after discovering my options, I would love to find a career in CAD.” - Year 7 student

With engaging and impactful programs like STEM Racing Australia, we can see in real time how perspectives shift, futures open, and change in the world actually starts to happen 🚀

Thank you to the inspiring voices from Korowa Anglican Girls' School, Camberwell Grammar School, The Knox School, St Bede's College and The Grange P-12 College.

And a huge congratulations to team Typhoon from our partner school, Alamanda College in Point Cook, who were crowned the overall VIC Champions, taking home 10 awards and a spot at the Australian National Finals! 🏆

“It was an eye-opening experience and now I am considering tech pathways as well” - Year 10 student that attended our Women in Tech event yesterday! 💟 A huge thank you to the inspiring women from Adobe and Oracle who made this day possible 🥹

Through speed networking and AI podcasting, 22 female students from Melbourne’s West discovered just how many career pathways exist in the world of tech, gaining confidence and a new sense of possibility for their futures.

A special thanks to Dr Loz from SciencePlay Kids for her creative and interactive presentation showing that tech isn’t just coding or computers, but a powerful tool used in every industry, including wildlife conservation, fashion, and art 🤩

Did you know that women currently make up less than 30% of the Australian tech workforce? Industry and education working together like this are how we can change that!

One of our favourite weeks here at Wyndham Tech School: STEM Racing Australia VIC State Finals! 🏎️ 🏁 115+ students came from across the state to put their engineering, design, manufacturing, and teamwork skills to the ultimate test.

Across three action-packed days, we saw incredible student talent in CAD, physics, marketing, graphic design, verbal comms, and even enterprise management, showcasing just how diverse STEM really is ❤️‍🔥

A huge congratulations to all 29 teams who made it to the State Finals 👏 Your months of hard work, innovation, creativity and dedication to compete at a massive competition like this is an achievement in itself to be very proud of!

A special shoutout to team Typhoon from our partner school, Alamanda College in Point Cook, who were crowned the overall VIC Champions, taking home 10 awards and a spot at the Australian National Finals! 🏆

Fresh off their 2025 World Champion win in Singapore, thank you team Lunar from Brighton Grammar School for joining us to present the VIC State Finals awards and inspiring this next wave of STEM Racers 🤩
