“After finally feeling ready to go back to study, the Tertiary Enabling Program (TEP) provided a good stepping stone before jumping into a Bachelor degree. The course is adaptable to many different circumstances and the teachers have helped me to feel prepared for university. "
– Alexandra, 2017 TEP student.

“After finishing Year 12, I was still unsure of what I wanted to do in in terms of university. I thought I would be better off getting some more preparation before committing to a degree which is why I applied to TEP.

I completed TEP in 2015 and have gone on to study a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Marketing and Event Management) in Bundoora, where I am currently in my second year.

TEP prepared me for university while also providing me with time to choose what I wanted to study in an incredibly supportive and friendly environment. Without having finished TEP I might have rushed into a course and not have completed it.”

- Dom, TEP Graduate and La Trobe University student.

Jacinta Gartner had been out of study for 10 years before she decided to pursue further education. Because of the long gap between studying, Jacinta needed to build necessary knowledge and study skills to get into a university degree.

“As I didn’t complete VCE, I needed an alternative pathway for entry into university,” Jacinta said. That is where La Trobe University’s Tertiary Enabling Program came in.

TEP is a free program that is completed on one of our campuses in just 14 weeks. After graduating from TEP, students will meet the requirements to apply for a wide range of courses at La Trobe University.

“After learning about TEP as an alternative entry pathway to my preferred course, I decided it was the most efficient course that would fit in with my family’s needs. As a mother with young children, TEP allows me to follow my career goals in an efficient, engaging and supportive adult learning environment,” Jacinta said.

Jacinta said that aside from fitting in with her family’s needs, the best part about TEP is the classes and the connections she has made within the program.

“I enjoy the variety of content and the new friendships and connections I’ve made. The course is both stimulating and manageable.”

After completing the program, Jacinta wants to apply for a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with the goal of continuing to Post Graduate Medicine, where she hopes to contribute to cancer management and care.

If you are interested in where TEP can take you, contact us today! Semester 2 starts 24 July. Application information can be found here: http://bit.ly/2rH1ft9
