A Proud Moment for the Department of Information Studies, East West University!

We are delighted to share that six students from the Department of Information Studies, East West University have been selected for paid internship opportunities at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS).

During this internship, our students will gain valuable practical experience under professional supervision.

This opportunity is a wonderful chance for our students to connect their academic knowledge with real-world professional practice and develop hands-on skills in a leading research institution.

Professor Dr. Susmita Chakraborty from the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Calcutta, has been serving as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Information Studies at East West University during the semester of Summer 26.

During her semester with us, she taught two full courses, collaborated with faculty members on research, and conducted insightful guest lectures and seminar sessions in which students from the department had the opportunity to participate and learn from her extensive knowledge and experience.

Her presence has enriched our department academically and created many wonderful memories for both faculty members and students. As she prepares to leave in just one week, we already feel how deeply she will be missed.

Thank you, Susmita Madam, for your invaluable guidance, warmth, and contribution to our department. Although this semester is coming to an end, the knowledge and memories you have shared with us will remain for a long time.

We will truly miss you, Madam, and we hope to welcome you back again soon. 💙

The Department of Information Studies, EWU, in collaboration with the Socio-Psyche Counselling Center, successfully organized an engaging seminar on “Young Minds and Campus Life.”

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Honourable Vice Chancellor, Professor Shams Rahman, for his valuable presence and support.

Special thanks to Dr. Jyotirmoy Samajder, MD PDM, for joining us all the way from Kolkata and sharing his valuable insights with our students. The session was highly interactive, and students enthusiastically participated throughout.
