CUET Celebrated Its 24th University Day with Festive Spirit

The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE) joined the vibrant celebrations of CUET’s 24th University Day with a spirited rally across the campus, bringing together students and faculty members to mark the special occasion with enthusiasm, unity, and pride.

With colorful placards and festoons, the ETE community added its own energy to the university wide celebration as departments across CUET took part in rallies commemorating another milestone in the university’s journey.

The celebration was held under the theme, “We will fall behind if we fail to adapt to global changes,” highlighting the importance of keeping pace with a rapidly changing world.

The day-long program was graced by Hon’ble Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, as the Chief Guest, with Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury, MP and Ir. Dr. Mohammad Azuwan bin Maoinser, Chairman, Department of Petroleum Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia, attending as Guests of Honour.

The event was chaired by CUET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem, with distinguished guests including Sarowar Alamgir, MP; Professor Dr. Muhammad Mozammel Haque, former Vice Chancellor of CUET; Professor Dr. Kazi Delwar Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering; Professor Dr. Sudip Kumar Pal, Dean, Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering; Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Kawsar, Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology; Professor Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and Professor Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan, Dean, Faculty of Architecture and Planning.

For ETE, the celebration was a reflection of the department’s spirit of togetherness and its place within the larger CUET community.

We would like to take a moment to congratulate Dr. Adnan Basir Patwary, one of our very first ETE graduates, on completing a PhD.

He completed his B.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from CUET in 2017 (ETE’12 batch) and has now earned his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas, USA.

We were delighted to welcome esteemed faculties from the Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (ETE), Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology - CUET, to Ulkasemi, where meaningful conversations took place around advancing VLSI education and industry readiness.

The faculty members shared their students’ growing interest in semiconductor design and expressed appreciation for ULKASEMI’s continued efforts in building Bangladesh’s VLSI ecosystem. A heartfelt token of appreciation was also presented and shared commitment to nurturing next-generation chip designers.

Honored to witness the signing of a groundbreaking GNSS Collaboration Agreement between the Department of ETE, CUET and the Department of EECE, MIST.

This partnership marks the beginning of a new era in ionospheric and atmospheric research in Bangladesh — with CUET hosting a GNSS receiver as part of MIST’s Countrywide GNSS Network.
