🍍 We see scarcity mindset talked about a lot in terms of money ...

But we haven't seen anyone talk about it in terms of: Time.

So we wanna get into that today, because let me tell you...

Time Scarcity is probably the least obvious yet we would say the most debilitating of the scarcity mindsets around - mostly because it dictates all of the other ones (money, relationships, growth etc.)

🤔 How so?

Think back to your childhood, did you ever experience you being super excited to play woth other kids on the playground, or you getting lost in a dofferent world when you collected insects out in nature, or when you were dancing and spinning in circles or singing tour favorite song in the car ...

And your parents or caregivers told you "come on...we have to go. We don't have time!"

🙉What did you hear in this moment?

That we don't have time to sing, explore nature and have fun?
That we don't have time for the cool stuff?
Or maybe you didn't actually take it in any specific way...

⏊ī¸ Now fast forward to your adulthood...

Think back to the last few months - how often did you say or think to yourself or to others
"I don't have time for that!"?
And what was about?

Be honest.
Was it the fun stuff? The stuff that is not business, doesn't make you money and that "you can still do later"?

If so then welcome to Time Scarcity.

âŗī¸ Time Scarcity is in fact not the fear of not having enough time for the things we really want to do in life before we die ...

No, instead it is the feeling that we are not good enough or that we dont deserve to do the things we really want to do
- and the pressure to do the things that we feel like we "should" be doing to fulfill society's expectations, make money and preserve a certain status in this world.

So how can we change this mindset?

🍍 First We recommend to keep track of the times when you think or say this to yourself or others over a longer period of times to get a feel for what it is you are not allowing yourself to do.

(Disclaimer: if there's underlying trauma that impacts this time scarcity, it is always necessary to address this first - best with a licensed therapist or trauma trained specialist)

🍍 Secondly, we personally believe there are a few angles to help with that, really.

But what needs to be addressed are the beliefs that lead to why you think you don't deserve to spend time on all of the things you actually want to do. What makes you think you are not worthy of spending this time?

🍍 Lastly it comes to refrained the thoughts and hence beliefs that lead to this behaviour OR changing the behaviour that leads to you repeating the thoughts. Depending on what works best for you.

There's a lot of other things that goes into this obviously but those are the big steps we need to take to break this Time Scarcity and turn it into (more) Time Freedom.

đŸ™…â€â™€ī¸ Let's stop living our life for other people's expectations -

And start living our own truth!

đŸĨŗ We are rooting for you!

During a study at Harvard in 1957, Dr. Curt Richter placed rats in a pool of water to test how long they could tread water.
On average they'd give up, sink and drown after 15 minutes.
But right before they gave up due to exhaustion,

the researchers would pluck them out,
dry them off,

let them rest for a few minutes and put them back in for a second round.

In this second try, how long do you think they lasted?

Remember, they had just swam until failure only a few short minutes ago...

How long do you think?

Another 15 minutes?

10 minutes?

5 minutes?

NO!

60 HOURS!

That's not an error.

That's right!

60 HOURS of swimming which is 2.5 DAYS!

The conclusion drawn was that since the rats BELIEVED that they would eventually be
rescued,

they could push their bodies way past what they previously thought impossible.

I will leave you with this thought:

If an Unstoppable Belief can cause exhausted rats to swim for that long,

what could a Belief in yourself and your Capabilities Do for You?

Remember What you’re capable of.

Remember Why you’re here.

Keep swimming and

Never Ever Quit.

4 Tips to boost your productivity if you are interested or currently working for a remote Job:

TIP 1

Align on company and team goals.

In the office, employees are surrounded by daily reminders about team and company goals. With remote work, it’s doubly important to have regular, candid discussions about connecting to the company mission and team goals.

TIP 2

Communicate individual roles and objectives.
In addition to understanding the team’s overarching goals, each team member should grasp their individual role in the company’s success. Review their core objectives and establish clear milestones you’d like them to reach.

TIP 3

Evaluate your existing infrastructure.
Your team may already use cloud-based tools to accomplish projects, but think about which tasks still rely on in-person interactions and whether they can be digitized to suit remote work.

TIP 4

Gather feedback about your current processes.

Gaps or weak points in your team’s workflow could be exacerbated by going remote. Work with your team to identify areas for improvement, brainstorm potential solutions, and document your new processes.

Tools for putting remote infrastructure in place

Cloud solutions like Dropbox, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive allow your remote team to easily share and save files.
