Noun নিয়ে আলোচনা (১ম পর্ব)

Noun মোট পাঁচ প্রকার। যথা :

1. Proper Noun (বিশেষ নাম)
2. Common Noun (জাতিবাচক নাম)
3. Collective Noun (সমষ্টিবাচক নাম)
4. Material Noun (পদার্থবাচক নাম)
5. Abstract Noun ( গুণবাচক নাম)

1. Proper Noun : একটি নির্দিষ্টি ব্যক্তি, বস্তু, স্থান ইত্যাদির নিজস্ব নামকে Proper Noun বলে।
যেমন : karim, Bangladesh, Dhaka etc

N.B. সাধারণত Proper Noun এর পূর্বে the বসে না। কিন্তু নদী, সাগর, উপসাগর, মহাসাগর, সংবাদপত্র, জাহাজ, এরোপ্লেন, ট্রেন, বিখ্যাত অট্রালিকা, পপর্বতমালা, দ্বীপপুঞ্জ, মরুভূমি ধর্মগ্রন্থ, দিক ইত্যাদির নাম Proper Noun হলেও এদের পূর্বে the বসে।
যেমন : The Padma is a big river.এখানে Padma proper noun হওয়া সত্তে ও the বসেছে।

2. Common Noun : যে সকল Noun দ্বারা নির্দিষ্ট কোন ব্যক্তি, বস্তু, স্থানের নাম না বুঝিয়ে একজাতীয় সকলকেই বোঝায় তাদেরকে Common Noun বলে।
যেমন : Man, Boy, Girl, Student, Teacher etc.

Adjective (বিশেষণ)

1. Adjective একটি নির্দিষ্ট order মেনে চলে। যেমন -
Determiner + Modifier + Headword.

Headword : যাকে নিয়ে আলোচনা- সমালোচনা করা হয় তাকে Headword বলে।

Modifier : যে word, Headword এর আগে বসে Headword এর দোষ, গুন, অবস্থা, পরিমান, ইত্যাদি বুঝায় তাকে Modifier বলা হয়।

Determiner : Headword এর আগে, যে word Headword কে নির্দিষ্ট করে বুঝায় তাকে Determiner বলে।

For Example :
Tom is a (determiner) good (modifier) student (headword)

Compound Noun : একাধিক word যুক্ত হয়ে noun এর কাজ করলে তাকে compound noun বলে। সাধারণত নিম্নোক্ত উপায়ে compound noun গঠিত হয়। যথা:-

1. Noun +Noun = River bank, college library.
2. Noun + gerund = Hand writing, Lorry driving.
3. Gerund + noun = Writing table, Driving licence.
4. Adjective + Noun = shorthand, Sweetheart.
5. Preposition + noun = Afternoon, Outlaw ( ফেরারি আসামী).
6. Adverb + verb = Income, Outcome (ফলাফল).
7. Noun + verb = Sunrise, Haircut.
8. Verb + noun = pick pocket.
