বার্ডে সময় ও সহযোগিতার জন্য অতিরিক্ত মহাপরিচালক আবদুল্লাহ আল মামুন ও উপপরিচালক অসীম কুমার সরকারকে বিভাগের পক্ষ থেকে রইলো আন্তরিক কৃতজ্ঞতা।

Congratulations to Puja Ghosh for achieving ICCR scholarship

Ms. Puja Gosh, our proud Alumna from the batch 27, started her M.A degree in Journalism at Delhi School of Journalism, University of Delhi. She achieved a prestigious ICCR scholarship this year provided by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India. Earlier, she completed her graduation from the department of Journalism and Media Studies, Port City International University with excellent CGPA and leadership skills.
We wish her good luck for the upcoming scholarly journey.

Congratulations to Mujtahid Hasan

Mr. Mujtahid Hasan, a student from Batch 29, Journalism and Media Studies, Port City International University has completed a three-day residential Constructive Journalism Training held from 21 to 23 August 2026 in Manikganj, representing The Climate Watch, an independent media platform focused on climate change, environment, biodiversity, wildlife, nature conservation and sustainability, with a particular focus on South Asia.
Around 15 journalists from different media organisations across Bangladesh were selected for the training. The programme was organised by VOICE in collaboration with International Media Support (IMS) and facilitated by Henrik Grunnet, IMS Advisor and award-winning journalist from Denmark. The training focused on public-interest, evidence-based and solutions-oriented journalism, strengthening the skills in developing nuanced stories, incorporating multiple perspectives and identifying practical solutions.

Congratulations to Lalfel Pangkhua for achieving MRDI Internship

The Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Port City International University (PCIU), is delighted to announce that Lalfel Pangkhua, a student of the 33rd Batch, has been selected for the prestigious 6-month journalism internship programme organized by the Media Resources Development Initiative (MRDI).

As part of the internship, Lalfel will work with Desh Rupantor, one of Bangladesh's leading national daily newspapers, where he will gain hands-on newsroom experience and strengthen his professional skills.

The internship is being conducted under the "Strategic Togetherness for Inclusive Development (STID)" project, an initiative that promotes inclusive journalism by creating opportunities for aspiring journalists from marginalised communities to work in mainstream media organizations.

This remarkable achievement reflects Lalfel's dedication, talent, and commitment to journalism. The Department of Journalism and Media Studies extends its heartfelt congratulations to Lalfel Pangkhua and wishes him every success as he begins this exciting professional journey with Desh Rupantor.

Congratulations to Prashanta Chakma for achieving MRDI Internship

The Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Port City International University (PCIU), is proud to announce that Prashanta Chakma, a student of the 30th Batch, has been selected for a 6-month journalism internship organized by the Media Resources Development Initiative (MRDI).

As part of the internship, Prashanta will work with The Daily Samakal, where he will gain hands-on newsroom experience and further develop his reporting and professional journalism skills.

The internship is being conducted under the "Strategic Togetherness for Inclusive Development (STID)" project, which seeks to promote inclusive journalism by providing young people from marginalised communities with practical newsroom experience in leading national and community media outlets.

Prashanta earned this opportunity through his outstanding performance, enthusiasm, and potential during the selection process. This achievement reflects his dedication to journalism and highlights the department's commitment to nurturing skilled and socially responsible media professionals.
