Training on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) for BAETE Accreditation Held at BAIUST
A significant training programme on Outcome-Based Education for BAETE Accreditation was held on 10 August 2026 in the Conference Room, BAIUST, Cumilla. The session featured comprehensive discussions on various aspects of Outcome-Based Education, the requirements of the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), and effective strategies for implementing OBE in engineering education. The training also covered the academic and administrative preparations required by departments to meet BAETE standards, assessment of Course Outcome attainment, implementation of Program Outcomes and the preparation and maintenance of the necessary accreditation documentation. The training sessions were conducted by Dr. Nargis Parvin, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE); Dr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering (CE); and Dr. Mohammad Shafiul Alam, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE). The programme was attended by the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Brigadier General Md. Kamal Uddin Komol, ndc, psc; Registrar Lt Col. Khandokar Mahmud Hossain, SPP, psc (retd.), Controller of Examinations Lt. Col Mofazzal Hossain Akhond, psc, Arty (retd.), all faculty members of the CSE, EEE, and CE departments, as well as faculty members from other departments offering engineering courses. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Professor Dr. Md. Tahidur Rahman, Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Ms. Salma Parvin Suma, Additional Director, IQAC, and Dr. Md. Mahmudur Rahman were also present at the session. The participants expressed their commitment to working collectively towards enhancing the quality of education through the effective implementation of OBE and achieving accreditation from the BAETE.
