Announcement: Women Entrepreneurs!!
Enrollment Open for CityAlo Women Entrepreneurship Training Program – June 2025
We are excited to announce the 12th cohort of the CityAlo Women Entrepreneurship Training Program, set to begin in June 2025 at North South University. This program offers a comprehensive yet concise business course delivered by expert academicians from North South University. The training will take place on 10 consecutive Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 PM at the NSU campus.
Participants will receive structured business education, a certificate, and a crest, and will become part of the CityAlo women entrepreneurs' network.
We have introduced new features, including a mental health, factory visit and product display sessions. Additionally, we will host a follow-up seminar for program graduates to ensure continued support and networking opportunities even after completing the course.

জীবনের অত্যাবশ্যক বিষয় নিয়ে অধ্যাপক ড. শরিফ নুরুল আহকামের অসাধারণ একটি বই – “অর্থ, জীবিকা এবং অবসর”। বিষয়গুলো অত্যাবশ্যক কেন?

উত্তরটিতো বইটির নামের মধ্যেই রয়েছে – “অর্থ, জীবিকা এবং অবসর” – বিষয়গুলো প্রত্যেকের জীবনেরই অপরিহার্য অংশ। আমাদের জীবিকার জন্য অর্থ বা টাকা আবশ্যক। এবং এক্ সময় আমাদের বয়স বাড়ার কারনে অবসরে যেতে হবে। সবই ঠিক আছে। শুধু নেই বিষয়গুলোকে সফলভাবে পরিচালনা করার পূর্ব-পরিকল্পনা। এই পরিকল্পনাহীন অবসরে যাওয়ার পর একজন হঠাৎ করে উপলব্ধি করেন রূঢ় বাস্তবতা এবং অসহায় বোধ করেন। কিন্তু তখন তিনি এমন সময়ে দাঁড়িয়ে যে এই ভুল শোধরানোর কোন সুযোগ নেই।
লেখক এই বাস্তবতা টের পেয়েছেন এবং তৎপর হয়েছেন যাতে অন্যরা এই ভুলটি না করেন।

বইটিতে সব কিছু পুঙ্খানুপুঙ্খ বর্ণিত হয়েছে। একজন তার পেশাগত জীবনের শুরুতে কিভাবে আগাবেন, মধ্য বয়সী ও চল্লিশ পরবর্তীরা কিভাবে আগালে অবসরের পরবর্তী ধাক্কা সামাল দেবেন – তা বিস্তারিতভাবে এনেছেন। সুখের বিষয় হলো লেখকের দেখানো পথে সঞ্চয়ের জন্য খুব বড় অংকের টাকার প্রয়োজন হচ্ছে না। প্রয়োজন শুধু পরিকল্পনা মাফিক আগানো।

সংসার সামলাতে যেয়ে নানাবিধ খরচের চক্করে পরে অনেকেই তালগোল পাকিয়ে ফেলেন। এবং ঋণ নিয়ে সামাল দিতে হয়। একটা খুব সাধারণ সমস্যা হলো কোন খরচটা কতোটুকু করবে, তা বুঝতে না পারা। যেমন, মোট আয়ের কত শতাংশ বাড়ি ভাড়ার পেছনে খরচ হবে? এই সব সাংসারিক ও ব্যক্তিগত হিসাব নিকাশ চমৎকার করে বুঝিয়ে দিয়েছেন। এইসাথে মুদ্রানীতির সূত্র ধরে দেখিয়েছেন যে এখনকার ১ টাকা দিয়ে যা কেনা যাচ্ছে, দশ বছর পর তা পাব না। এই বিষয়টিও মাথায় রাখতে হবে। তা না হলে সঞ্চয়ের অবিকল চিত্রটি আমরা ধরতে পারবো না।

আমার মনে হয় আপনারা সবাই এই বই থেকে উপকৃত হবেন।

Launched in 2019 through a collaboration between NSU and CityAlo from The City Bank, this certification program aims to equip women with essential business knowledge for both survival and growth. To date, we have successfully completed 10 cohorts and graduated over 500 participants.
This year, we have introduced new features, including a factory visit and product display sessions. Additionally, we will host a follow-up seminar for program graduates to ensure continued support and networking opportunities even after completing the course.

আমি আমার Finance ক্লাসে যা পড়াই, তার অনেকটাই ইউ টিউব চ্যানেলে দিয়ে রাখছি। Time Value of Money মোটা মুটি দেওয়া হয়ে গেছে। আজ Valuation of Bonds আংশিক দিয়েছি। এটা করা হয়েছে professional দের জন্য। সব excel ব্যাবহার করে কিভাবে সমাধান বের করতে হয় সেটা দেওয়া হয়েছে। দেখতে হলে ইউ টিউবে ঢুকে ঢুকলে দেখা যাবে। প্রত্যেক শুক্রবার এবং সোম বারে নতুন কিছু দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করবো। যদি কোন problem নিয়ে প্রশ্ন থাকলে কমেন্ট করলে সমাধান দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করবো।

আমার পরিচিত সবাইকে এই বইটি কেনার অনুরোধ করবো। প্রধানত যারা এখন তাদের জীবিকার প্রথম পর্যায়ে তাদের অবশ্যই এই বই পড়া উচিত। পরের সংস্করণে আরও কিছু তথ্য জোগ করবো।
