A proud moment for the Department of Civil Engineering, East West University, as Rigid Rebels, representing ECEC, became Champion in the Truss Combat Segment at Construct Carnival 2.0, RUET! ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฉ

In the Truss Combat Segment, competing against 144 teams from across Bangladesh, Rigid Rebels showcased outstanding engineering skills, creativity, teamwork, and determination to secure the top position. ๐Ÿ† A total of 10 talented teams participated in this challenging segment, making the achievement even more remarkable.

In the Mechamind Segment, 4 participants competed individually, with 3 securing positions in the Top 10. In the CAD Expert Segment, 1 participant represented East West University and successfully secured a Top 10 position.

These remarkable achievements reflect the technical excellence, innovative spirit, and dedication nurtured by the Civil Engineering Department and ECEC of East West University.

The Department of Civil Engineering, East West University, organized an Orientation Program for the newly admitted undergraduate students of the 29th Batch on 10 September 2026. The program was chaired by Dr. Md. Naimul Haque, Chairperson and Professor, Department of Civil Engineering.

Md Taki Tajwar, Senior Lecturer, Department of Civil Engineering, served as the anchor of the program and guided the proceedings. Chandra Shekhor Mondal, Senior Lab Officer, was assigned to assist in conducting and coordinating the program. Volunteers from the East West University Civil Engineering Club also played an active role in organizing and managing the event, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the program. The orientation introduced the newcomers to the department's faculty members, academic curriculum, laboratory facilities, academic regulations, extracurricular activities, and available student support.

The newly admitted students met their academic advisor, Dr. Md. Alhaz Uddin, Associate Professor, who provided important academic guidance and discussed the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. He also raised awareness about sexual harassment and encouraged students to remain informed about their rights and responsibilities.

The program concluded with a group photograph, marking a memorable beginning to the students' academic journey at East West University.

The Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA), under the Road Transport and Highways Division, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Government of Bangladesh, is inviting applications for its 6-month Internship Programme for the 2026โ€“2027 fiscal year.

A total of 2 interns will be selected in the following areas:

๐ŸŽ“ Eligibility

For TOD:
โ€ข Bachelor/Masterโ€™s/Masterโ€™s equivalent (Appeared or Completed) in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban & Regional Planning, or an equivalent engineering discipline from a recognized university
โ€ข Candidates appearing in the final examination may also apply, subject to submission of the required institutional certification

For E-Ticketing System:
โ€ข Bachelor/Masterโ€™s/Masterโ€™s equivalent (Appeared or Completed) in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline from a recognized university
โ€ข Candidates appearing in the final examination may also apply

Additional requirements:
โ€ข Applicant must be a citizen of Bangladesh
โ€ข The Masterโ€™s/equivalent degree must have been completed or the candidate must be appearing within the specified eligibility period
โ€ข An applicant can undertake the internship only once under the DTCA Internship Policy 2020
