Daffodil International University Debating Club and Democracy International have held a three-day national debate festival, Amio Jitte Chai, in Dhaka.
The festival features a parliamentary debate competition, with 32 universities and 32 school teams competing in seven rounds. The event began with keynote addresses, school-level debates, and quarterfinals, followed by university-level debates, workshops, theater performances, and cultural presentations. The final rounds will feature debates, policy dialogue, and a prize-giving ceremony. The festival aims to provide a platform for students to voice their opinions on pressing national issues, with representatives from civil society, political parties, and social influencers also participating. The festival aims to foster solutions rather than conflict.
