বেসিক ব্যাংকের নতুন ডিএমডি হলেন মোঃ রফিকুল ইসলাম
শতভাগ রাষ্ট্র মালিকানাধীন বেসিক ব্যাংক লিঃ এর উপব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক (ডিএমডি) পদে মোঃ রফিকুল ইসলাম রবিবার, ১৩ এপ্রিল ২০২৫ যোগদান করেছেন। সম্প্রতি আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান বিভাগের এক প্রজ্ঞাপনের মাধ্যমে তিনি সোনালী ব্যাংকের মহাব্যবস্থাপক থেকে ডিএমডি পদে পদোন্নতি লাভ করেন এবং বেসিক ব্যাংকে পদায়িত হন। মোঃ রফিকুল ইসলাম ২০০৪ সালে প্রোগ্রামার পদে সোনালী ব্যাংকে কর্মজীবন শুরু করেন।
দীর্ঘ দুই দশকের কর্মজীবনে জনাব ইসলাম সোনালী ব্যাংকের আইসিটি বিভাগসহ প্রধান কার্যালয়ের বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ন বিভাগে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। তিনি খুলনা, ময়মনসিংহ এবং জামালপুর এর জেনারেল ম্যানেজার্স অফিসের জিএম হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। সোনালী ব্যাংকের সিবিএস বাস্তবায়নে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করেন। এছাড়া তিনি সোনালী ব্যাংকিং সলিউশন (এসবিএস) নামে ব্রাঞ্চ ব্যাংকিং সফটওয়্যার বাস্তবায়নের মাধ্যমে ব্যাংকের ডিজিটালাইজশনে গুরুত্বপূর্ন অবদান রাখেন।
মোঃ রফিকুল ইসলাম ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে পরিসংখ্যানে স্নাতক ও স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। এছাড়াও তিনি একই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে মাস্টার অব প্রফেশনাল ব্যাংকিং (এমপিবি) ডিগ্রি লাভ করেন। তিনি একজন সার্টিফাইড ডাটা বেইজ এ্যাডমিনিস্ট্রেটর (ডিবিএ)। তিনি দেশে-বিদেশে আইটির উপর এবং অন্যান্য ব্যাংকিং বিষয়াবলীর উপর সেমিনার, কর্মশালা এবং প্রশিক্ষণে অংশগ্রহন করেন। জনাব ইসলাম ঝিনাইদহের মহেশপুর উপজেলায় এক সম্ভ্রান্ত মুসলিম পরিবারে জন্ম গ্রহন করেন।
Md. Rafiqul Islam New DMD of BASIC Bank
Md. Rafiqul Islam has joined State-owned BASIC Bank Limited as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) on April 13, 2025. Recently, a gazette notification was issued, promoting him from General Manager (GM) to Deputy Managing Director (DMD) by the Financial Institution Division of the Ministry of Finance.
Before this promotion, Md. Rafiqul Islam was the GM of Sonali Bank PLC. He started his career at Sonali Bank PLC as a Programmer in 2004. He held different positions in the ICT division and other divisions in the Sonali Bank head office. He served as the GM of Sonali Bank’s Khulna, Mymensingh, and Jamalpur GM offices. Mr. Islam played a pivotal role during the implementation of Sonali Bank’s CBS software. As well as he implemented the Sonali Banking Solution (SBS), a branch banking software of Sonali Bank PLC.
He completed his graduation and post-graduation in Statistics from Dhaka University. He also achieved a Master of Professional Banking (MPB) degree from the same university. Additionally, Mr. Islam is a certified Database Administrator (DBA). He participated in different seminars, workshops, and training programs on IT and other banking issues at home and abroad. Mr. Islam was born into a respectable Muslim family in Maheshpur Upazila of Jhenaidah.
