"ফাগুনের রঙে রাঙাবে প্রাণ, বসন্ত আসছে দুয়ারে!"

কাল সকালেই বিইউএফটি ক্যাম্পাস বদলে যাবে এক রঙিন আনন্দলোকের মাঝে। বাতাসে থাকবে পলাশ-শিমুলের উচ্ছ্বাস, মাটিতে আঁকা হবে আলপনার গল্প, আর সুরের মেলায় গেয়ে উঠবে বসন্তের গান!

তোমরা প্রস্তুত তো? প্রাণের উচ্ছ্বাস, রঙের খেলা, আর অফুরন্ত আনন্দের এই মিলনমেলায় দেখা হবে!

বসন্তের রঙে মুখরিত হবে বিইউএফটি ক্যাম্পাস!

বসন্ত মানেই নতুন প্রাণের স্পন্দন, রঙের ছোঁয়া, আর অফুরন্ত আনন্দের বার্তা।ফাগুনের নরম হাওয়ায় প্রাণ জুড়ানো এই ঋতুকে বিইউএফটি অ্যাপারেল ক্লাব জানায় উষ্ণ শুভেচ্ছা।

ফাল্গুন মানেই রঙের উচ্ছ্বাস, প্রাণের জাগরণ। সেই আনন্দ ছড়িয়ে দিতে বিজিএমইএ ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ফ্যাশন অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি (বিইউএফটি)-তে আয়োজিত হচ্ছে বসন্ত বরণ উৎসব। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অ্যাপারেল ম্যানুফ্যাকচারিং অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি (এএমটি) ডিপার্টমেন্টের উদ্যোগে আগামী ১৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি (৫ ফাল্গুন) দিনভর চলবে এই উৎসব।

সকালে শুরু হওয়া এই আয়োজনে থাকবে গান, নাচ, বাহারি স্টল এবং নানা সাংস্কৃতিক পরিবেশনা। পুরো ক্যাম্পাস সেজে উঠবে ফাগুনের রঙে, আলপনায় রাঙানো হবে পথঘাট। শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে বসবে বিভিন্ন উদ্যোক্তার স্টল, যেখানে থাকবে ফুড কর্নারসহ দেশীয় ঐতিহ্যের নানা স্বাদ।

উৎসবের শেষাংশে আয়োজন করা হয়েছে বিশেষ সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান। সেখানে শিক্ষার্থীরা পরিবেশন করবেন রবীন্দ্র ও নজরুল সংগীত, বসন্তের আবহে মনোমুগ্ধকর নৃত্য ও গান।

বসন্তের আমেজে বিইউএফটি ক্যাম্পাস হবে রঙিন, প্রাণবন্ত—শুধু উৎসব নয়, এটি হয়ে উঠবে এক অনন্য আমেজমুখর মিলনমেলা।

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) successfully hosted a seminar on “Digital Product Passport & EU Legislation for the Textile Industry” on February 9, 2025. This event served as a platform for insightful discussions on the evolving regulatory and technological advancements of the global textile sector.

The seminar featured distinguished speakers, including Nellie Gayle, Community Engagement Director at GS1 Global Office, and Jeanet Van Der Stoel, Sector Lead for Textile & Apparel at GS1 Netherlands. Their expertise provided invaluable insights into critical industry developments, emphasizing the growing consumer demand for sustainable products, traceability challenges within Bangladesh’s supply chains, and the far-reaching implications of the EU Green Deal. The discussions also highlighted the role of GS1 Digital Link in improving product information accessibility and transparency.

The event was further enriched by the presence of esteemed guests, including Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees, Professor Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice-Chancellor of BUFT, Professor Dr. Engr. Mohammed Rubaiyat Chowdhury, Dean of BUFT, and Dr. Engr. Md. Hasan Ikbal, associate professor, dept. of Apparel Manufacturing Technology(AMT), BUFT. Their participation underscored BUFT’s ongoing commitment to bridging industry and academia to address emerging challenges in the textile sector.

The seminar concluded on a thought-provoking note, reinforcing the importance of knowledge-sharing and innovation in navigating the evolving regulatory framework of the global textile industry. We proudly celebrate the incredible achievements of Team Linen and Team Viscose of batch 222 from the Department of Apparel Manufacturing & Technology (AMT) in the Hult Prize BUFT 2025.

Both teams were qualified for the final in the Hult Prize BUFT Final 2025. Team Linen (Syed Yaseen Abdullah, Pervez Mosharrof, Abu Raihan) emerged as the Champion of the "Hult Prize at BUFT presents: Business Case Competition 2025" by Lalamove. whereas, Team Viscose (Ishmum Ahmed Galib, Mohammad Bin Fariaz, Sabbir Hasan Akndo) secured the prestigious 2nd Runners-up position in the Hult Prize BUFT Final 2025.

FAS at BUFT Successfully Hosts Freshmen Orientation Program for Fall 2024

The Faculty of Apparel Studies (FAS) at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) successfully organized the Freshmen Orientation Program for the Fall 2024 session on October 15, 2024, at the BUFT Auditorium. The event, aimed specifically at welcoming students from the Apparel Manufacturing Management (AMM) and Apparel Merchandising & Technology (AMT) departments, provided an insightful and inspiring start to their academic journey.

The program was graced by Mr. Swapan Kumar Saha, Regional Office Manager for Bangladesh & Pakistan, as the Chief Guest. His extensive industry insights offered valuable guidance to the students as they prepare to enter the world of fashion and apparel. The event was chaired by Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor of BUFT, whose remarks emphasized the importance of academic excellence and professional integrity in the fashion and textile sectors.

Special Guest, Engr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, Business Development Advisor, delivered a compelling speech on current industry trends, highlighting the evolving opportunities in the apparel sector. The Guest of Honor, Mr. Md. Ashfaqur Rahman, Coordinator, SEIP & BGMEA, along with Mr. Syed Mahir Ali, Merchandiser at Simba Fashion Ltd., shared their practical experiences and offered advice on career development and industry expectations.

The orientation successfully introduced the new students to the resources and support systems available at BUFT, while also inspiring them with real-world perspectives from industry experts. Students left the event motivated and ready to embark on their academic journey at BUFT.

With deep sorrow BUFT Apparel Club (BAC) announce the untimely departure of AR Rahman Nishad, from the Department of AMT, Batch-212, BUFT. He tragically succumbed to dengue and jaundice, leaving us all heartbroken. As members of the BUFT Apparel Club, we remember Nishad for his dedication, kindness, and the positive energy he brought to our community.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Nishad's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all.
