Exploring Innovation, Inspiring the Future!

Our faculty members and students recently visited the Innovation Fair to explore emerging ideas, technologies, and creative solutions shaping the future of Bangladesh and the world.

The visit provided our students with an exciting opportunity to discover innovative products, interact with entrepreneurs and innovators, and gain practical insights into how technology, creativity, and research are transforming industries and society.

Our university proudly participated in the fair with its own stall, showcasing our commitment to innovation, creativity, research, entrepreneurship, and future-ready education.

Accompanied by an Assistant Professor and a Lecturer, our students actively explored the exhibition, observed new technological developments, and exchanged ideas with participants from diverse fields.

Such experiences go beyond the classroom- they encourage curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and an entrepreneurial mindset among our students.

FDT Department Organizes Seminar on AI and the Future of Bangladesh’s RMG, Textile & Fashion Workforce.

The Department of Fashion Design & Technology (FDT) successfully organized a seminar titled “Future-Proofing Bangladesh’s RMG, Textile and Fashion Workforce in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Industry–Academia Strategies for Sustainable Employment,” in collaboration with CEMS Global USA.

The seminar focused on the rapidly evolving role of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies in transforming Bangladesh’s RMG, textile, and fashion industries. It emphasized the importance of strengthening industry–academia collaboration, developing future-ready skills, promoting innovation, and creating sustainable employment opportunities for the next generation of professionals.

The session provided valuable insights into the changing demands of the industry and highlighted the need for technology-driven education, continuous skill development, and strategic collaboration to ensure a competitive and sustainable workforce.

The FDT Department remains committed to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements while preparing students to confidently navigate the future of the global fashion and textile landscape.

Together, we move towards a smarter, more innovative, and sustainable future for Bangladesh’s fashion and RMG industries.

Orientation Program for the 54th Batch

The Department of Fashion Design & Technology, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, organized the Summer 2026 Orientation Program on 23 August 2026 at the university’s permanent campus auditorium to warmly welcome the newly admitted students of the 54th Batch and introduce them to the academic, professional, and co-curricular environment of the department.

The program introduced the new students to the department’s academic environment, faculty members, student advisors, university guidelines, facilities, and opportunities for professional development.

The event featured inspiring addresses from the Mr. Sohel Anwar Apu, Assistant Professor,
Ms. Habiba Akter Papia, Associate Professor and Member of the Proctorial Committee,
Ms. Tanjina Mahbub, Associate Professor and member of the IQAC committee,
Ms. Rehana Sultana, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the University Committee on Sexual Harassment,
Professor Shishir Kr. Bhattacharjee, Dean, Faculty of Design & Technology and the
Ms. Farhana Karim, Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Department of Fashion Design & Technology. Students were also introduced to their respective groups and participated in memorable group photography sessions with their teachers.

It is worth mentioning that the entire orientation event was thoughtfully organized and coordinated by the students of the 53rd Batch.

The Fashion Design & Technology (FDT) Department of Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT) had the wonderful opportunity to visit ,𝐃𝐁𝐋 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 one of Bangladesh's most renowned and leading garment manufacturers.

From the moment we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the warm hospitality. Being welcomed with flowers and treated as special guests truly made us feel honored and appreciated. The thoughtful arrangements and generous hospitality reflected the outstanding culture and professionalism of the DBL family.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our beloved 𝐅𝐃𝐓 𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐁𝐋 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩, whose dedication, care, and guidance made this industrial visit truly memorable.
