On 11 August 2026, the juniors of 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝗗𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 (𝗗𝗦𝗰𝗘) came together to bid a heartfelt farewell to our 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬–𝟮𝟭. 🎓💙

The programme began with the warm initiative of our Coordinator, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗺, setting the tone for an occasion filled with gratitude, memories, and a shared sense of belonging. Our respected 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 then presented flowers and a commemorative crest to our seniors as a token of appreciation for their journey and contribution to the DevEcon family.

For us, this farewell was more than a formal goodbye. It was an opportunity to celebrate the friendships, guidance, experiences, and memories that our seniors leave behind, and to acknowledge the path they have helped shape for the batches that follow.

As the 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 steps into a new chapter of their academic and professional lives, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and best wishes for everything that lies ahead.

May the bonds built here continue far beyond the classroom.

Today, 15 August 2026, the undergraduate students of 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝗗𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 (𝗗𝗦𝗰𝗘) had the privilege of arranging a heartfelt farewell for our 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰–𝟮𝟱. 🎓💙

More than a farewell, the gathering became a meaningful exchange between two generations of the 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆. As our seniors reflected on their 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀, one message echoed repeatedly: the importance of building a 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.

Their appreciation for the dedication of our 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀, the bonds within the department, and the collective efforts of the wider DevEcon family reminded us that a department is built not only through classrooms and degrees, but through the 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀, 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

We hope today’s farewell marks not an ending, but the beginning of an even stronger connection between our 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶, 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻.

With gratitude for the paths you have walked and the experiences you shared with us, we wish the 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 every success in the journey ahead.

An insightful article by Tasnim Nur Trisa (Department of Development Economics, Session: 2024–25, Dhaka School of Economics, University of Dhaka) evaluates how gender-responsive budgeting serves as a vital engine for Bangladesh’s economic growth and social progress. Since introducing gender budgeting in 2009, Bangladesh has expanded support across key sectors, driving notable progress in female labor force participation, maternal health, secondary education parity, and SME ownership. However, persistent challenges such as informal employment, gender wage gaps, limited digital access, and leadership underrepresentation underscore the need for sustained financial commitment and policy ex*****on to achieve SDG 5 and Vision 2041.
