In present condition Bangladesh earns 85% foreign currency of its exports from this sector. Shortage of skilled manpower is one of the big problems of this sector. In addition for survival in the competitive world market, quality development of the product as well as product variation with new dimension is mandatory. Creating Textile Engineers is only the way to solve these problems. BUBT has widened its window to the young people of Bangladesh and become a means to build up challenging career as a Textile Engineer. The department of Textile Engineering offers exciting programs in product and textile development. This program is based on North American style and latest developments in the textile field. The final-year students of the Department of Textile Engineering are undergoing a rigorous two-month-long industrial internship program at various renowned textile and composite manufacturing industries as part of their academic curriculum.

The internship provides valuable hands-on experience and real-life industrial exposure, helping students bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice. The department actively assists students in securing internship opportunities and works closely with industry partners to support their learning and professional development. Each group is also assigned a faculty supervisor to monitor and guide their progress throughout the internship period.

At the end of the semester, the students will appear before a board of experts to present and assess the knowledge and experience gained during their internships. Several students also receive opportunities to begin their professional careers following the successful completion of the program.

The Department of Textile Engineering, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), extends its sincere congratulations to Shadman Ahmed Khan, Assistant Professor; Naeem Ahmmed, Lecturer; and Abdullah Ibn Asheque, Lecturer, on the successful publication of their research article titled “Optimized Bombax Ceiba/Jute Hybrid Epoxy Composites for Enhanced Thermal Insulation Performance” in the esteemed Q2, Scopus-indexed journal Materials Research Express.
