Some moments stay with us long after the day is over.

At M. A. Rashid Probeen Nibash, Jamalpur, students of the UIU Social Services Club (UIUSSC), in collaboration with United Trust, spent a day sharing something simple yet meaningful: time.

Through conversations, shared meals, smiles, and stories, the Elderly Care Home Visit 2026 became an opportunity to connect with a generation whose experiences carry lessons far beyond the classroom. For the students, it was a reminder that care is not always about doing something extraordinary; sometimes, it is simply about being there.

The stories heard, moments shared, and blessings received will remain a meaningful part of the experience, reflecting the spirit of compassion and service that extends beyond campus.

Bringing Industry Insight to the Classroom — Welcome, Abrar Mahmood Sami!

With an MSc in Finance from the University of Edinburgh, Abrar Mahmood Sami joins the School of Business & Economics (SoBE), UIU as an Adjunct Faculty member.

Mr. Sami brings professional experience from J.P. Morgan, NatWest, Ernst & Young (EY), and IPDC Finance, with expertise spanning Finance, Economics, Banking, and Financial Services.

His professional journey across leading financial institutions adds a valuable real-world perspective to the learning experience, and we look forward to the knowledge and insights he will share with our students.

A Warm Welcome to Antara Chowdhury!

With a strong foundation in economics and research, Antara Chowdhury joins the School of Business & Economics (SoBE), UIU as an Adjunct Faculty member.

Holding a Master’s in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, USA, Ms. Chowdhury brings research interests across Applied, Development and Labor Economics, food security, poverty and inequality, and AI inclusion in labor markets. Her expertise in econometric modeling, impact evaluation, household survey analysis, Stata, and policy research is complemented by teaching and research experience with USAID projects, Purdue University, and other private universities.

We look forward to the research insights and academic perspectives she will bring to our students and the wider UIU community.

United International University is pleased to have S. M. Asif Ur Rahman join the School of Business & Economics (SoBE) as an Adjunct Faculty member.

With a Master’s in Communications and Technology from the University of Alberta, Canada, Mr. Rahman brings diverse professional experience from Grameenphone Ltd., BBC Bangla Service, the University of Alberta, Walmart, Tim Hortons, and Canadian Tire, alongside teaching experience in Marketing, Management, and Business Communications.

The floor was set. The arguments were ready. The debate was on.

The 1st UIU Inter-Department Debate Tournament brought together 12 teams from across UIU for an engaging exchange of ideas and perspectives, with students putting their critical thinking, confidence, and argumentation skills to the test. Presented by Cartup, the tournament unfolded through a series of competitive rounds, leading to a spirited grand finale.

The Department of BBA emerged as Champion, while CSE secured the Runner-up position. Tasnim Hosen (BBA) was named Best Debater of the Tournament, while Talukder Sadman Sakib (BBA) received the Best Debater of the Final award.

From challenging viewpoints to defending arguments with conviction, the tournament reflected the vibrant culture of intellectual engagement that continues to grow across UIU.

Congratulations to all the debaters, winners, and the UIU Debate Club (UIUDC) for bringing this platform for ideas, dialogue, and excellence to life.

UIU RANKED WORLD NO. 4 AT SUAS 2026. 🇧🇩🏆

WELCOME HOME, ACHIEVERS!

From Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, to a hall filled with cheers, pride and familiar faces! UIU rolled out a warm welcome today for the UIU Aerial Robotics Team (UART) after their remarkable 4th-place global finish at the 2026 Student Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) Competition.

UIU welcomed the team with fanfare as Dr. Riasat Azim, Associate Professor, Department of CSE and Mentor of UART, reflected on their difficult journey, while Team Co-Lead Junaed Ahmed thrilled the audience with their at-times-scary to other-times-cheerful experience when they struggled with pre-competition trials of their drone!

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia encouraged students to step forward, take on global challenges and assured them that UIU will stand behind their ambitions.
