For the students who wish to achieve world class degree while residing in Bangladesh, we run Diploma-in-Law and LLB (Hons) programme under the University of London International Programmes. These courses are designed to meet the UK Bar Standards Board requirements especially for those students who wish to attain the title “Barrister-at-Law” within only 3 or 4 years. Through combined study in Bangladesh and the UK, Newcastle Law Academy has created an opportunity that will help its graduates to become highly competent Barristers and confident transnational lawyers. The LLB (Hons) programme under the University of London is also recognised by the Bangladesh Bar Council and the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh. Therefore students awarded with the University of London LLB (Hons) degrees can also practice as lawyers in Bangladeshi jurisdiction or appear at the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) and Judicial Service Commission examinations. Newcastle Law Academy also opens up a fast track for the learned Advocates of Bangladesh to become Barristers within 6 months’ time. The Academy retains some of the best Barristers in the country delivering innovative Bar Transfer Test (BTT) law programmes using truly state-of-the-art teaching facilities. We require the learned Advocates, who aspire to become Barristers, to complete 6 months training with us and then to sit for the Bar exam in the UK. Our curriculum includes scheduling options that would allow the learned Advocates with hectic timetable a way to attend classes. The learned Advocates may choose either day or evening or crash programmes. No Academy, other than Newcastle, offers a greater variety of scheduling options. Furthermore, we also provide tuition support to ‘A’ Level students studying Law and Politics (previously GP). Over the years, our students have excelled in ‘A’ Level results and received Daily Star Awards for their excellence.
