Department of Computer Science and Engineering at ULAB, since its inception, has been offering the undergraduate program in Computer Science and Engineering with more focus on the ICT industries worldwide. The designed program delivers the fundamental skills needed to become a Computer Scientist. The program also aims to a wider knowledge of the subject, rather than just an understanding of existi

ng commercial approaches, so that the student's understanding and knowledge can adapt and evolve to match the skills that will be required in the coming century. The degree is designed for a wide range of students, including those who wish to pursue a career in software engineering or computer programming or related areas, based on strong technical competence in software system design and interfacing, and also those who wish to move on to study for higher degrees in the computing and information technology areas either at home or abroad. The department is well accepted by different professional bodies through participation in different activities related to ICT. The department is already engaged in international conferences like ICCIT and ICECE and programming contest like National Computer Programming Contest and ICPC.

The Department of CSE successfully organized a session titled โ€œAligning Engineering Curriculum with BAETE Manual v3.0: Incorporating SDGs and Entrepreneurshipโ€ on Thursday, August 06, 2026.

The session was conducted by ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐’๐š๐ฅ๐ž๐ค๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐ˆ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐š๐ฆ, PhD, Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), North South University (NSU), and ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐Œ๐จ๐ก๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐’๐ก๐š๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ซ ๐‘๐š๐ก๐ฆ๐š๐ง, PhD, Higher Education Specialist, ICSETEP, University Grants Commission (UGC), and Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), United International University (UIU).

The resource persons discussed strategies for integrating the ๐’๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐†๐จ๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ (๐’๐ƒ๐†๐ฌ) and ๐„๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ž๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ into engineering curricula in alignment with the requirements of the BAETE Manual v3.0. The session also explored practical approaches to embedding these elements into curriculum design, teaching and learning, and assessment.

Faculty members from engineering disciplines enthusiastically participated in the session and actively engaged in discussions, sharing their perspectives and experiences on strengthening engineering education through SDG-oriented and entrepreneurship-focused curriculum development.
