Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus

• Dr. Muhammad Yanus the first Bangladeshi earns Supreme dignity for the nation by winining the nobel peace prize for 2006. Dr yunus and his grameen bank have jointly won the worlds most prestigious award for their contiuibution to poverty allevition in the country and other nation across the world.
• The whole nation bursts into extreme joy...when the norwegion nobel commitee declares.dr yunus and his grameen bank winners of the nobel peace prize on october 13-2006.If is most glorious and significant event in the history of bangladesh often independence in 1971 Dr. Yunus has brightened the image of the country by wining the nobel prize.Banglaseh, throwgh this higest award, has been placed in such a position that it will be ever respected by the world from now on.
• Dr.yunus who is called banker to the poor , changes the lot of the rural poor people particularly women, providing them with micro-credit. The aim of his micro-credit cocept is to make the poor people self reliant and thus improving their standard of living. He strongly believes that peace and tranquilty in the society is only possible when people will be freed from the cutch of proverty.
• His grameen bank is playing a vital role in this regart. The bank is providing small loans to this deprived section of the people with loan money poor people are getting involved in some productive activties such as poultry farming and fish cultivation lots of rural people .Who once lived in utter poverty,have changed their lot by taking small loans from grameen bank. Born in 1940 in chittagong. Dr yunus obtained his BA and MA from dhaka university.He did PHD in Economics from vanderbilt university in 1969. Dr yunus launched the activites of grameen bank and started giving small loans to the poor people with a vision to make a poverty free bangladesh.
• He offically formed grameen bank in 1983. The bank has bought 6.5 million rural people of the country under micro-credit programme .The micro-credit programme of dr. Yunus has already become a model for many countres. Dr yunus is widely known every where in the world for doing great job for poor people and landless people. Before wining nobel peace prize dr yunus recived over 60 national and international awards for his fight against poverty and contribution to social devolpment.
• Dr.yunus , the proud son of the soil, will be ever remembered by the nation for wining the nobel peace prize .The goverment as well as people of the country should extend all necessary cooperation so that he can continue his nobel task..
