The Department of Environmental Science and Management proudly celebrates Rabeya Alam Roza and Tanzila Tabassum, both from our department, selected as Millennium Fellows and Campus Directors for the Prestigious Millennium Fellowship Class of 2026, presented by the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the Millennium Campus Network (MCN).

As campus director, they will lead the semester-long leadership program with a cohort of 26 fellows.

Roza's project, Planting for the Future: Green Revolution, promotes the plantation of native Bangladeshi species to protect biodiversity and ecological balance, with roughly 100 native plants already established on the IUB campus. It aligns with SDG 13 and SDG 15.

Tanzila's project, Vessel-Induced LULC Dynamics, applies satellite-based data analysis to examine how vessel traffic contributes to riverbank erosion, with findings aimed at informing policy measures such as designated "No-Wake Zones" to protect affected riverbank communities. It aligns with SDG 11."

We are looking for a passionate professional interested in youth engagement, climate action, capacity strengthening, stakeholder coordination, and project implementation.

Who can apply?
✔️ Candidates with a master’s degree in Climate Science, Environmental Studies, Disaster Management, Geography, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field

✔️ Professionals with demonstrated experience working with young people, youth-led organisations, or community-based initiatives
✔️ Candidates with experience in organising training sessions, workshops, consultations, mentorship activities, or youth-focused events
✔️ Individuals with strong project coordination, communication, documentation, stakeholder-engagement, and English-language skills
✔️ Candidates who can work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and are willing to travel across Bangladesh
