As part of OSL's 10 – A Decade of Strategic and Entrepreneurial Leadership for an Innovative Bangladesh, we continue to reconnect with our alumni and celebrate the people, memories, and experiences that have shaped the Department of Organization Strategy and Leadership over the past decade.

Today, we feature Md. Saiful Islam from OSL's 4th Batch, currently serving as a Territory Officer at Robi Axiata Ltd. Through his work in one of Bangladesh's leading telecommunications companies, he is contributing to business growth and customer engagement while carrying forward the leadership mindset and values developed during his time at OSL.

We asked Saiful Bhai about a memory from his OSL journey that he still cherishes. His answer was "নদী ও নেঀৃঀ্ব". নদী ও নেঀৃঀ্ব was one of OSL's landmark initiatives and the first river cruise program of its kind at the University of Dhaka. Bringing together undergraduate students, alumni, EMBA students, faculty members, and departmental staff, it created a unique opportunity for the entire OSL family to connect beyond the classroom. Filled with conversations, laughter, music, and shared experiences, the event became a memorable celebration of togetherness and remains one of the most cherished milestones in the department's history.

We also asked Saiful Bhai what message he would like to share with the current students of OSL. He said: "Never be afraid of challenges. Stay focused on your goals, keep learning, take ownership of your responsibilities, and always give your best effort. Success may not come overnight, but hard work never goes unnoticed."

On the occasion of OSL's 10th Anniversary, Saiful Bhai shared his heartfelt wishes:
"A decade of dedication, innovation, teamwork, and remarkable achievementsβ€”what an incredible journey it has been! As we celebrate this significant milestone, we honor the contributions of every team member who has been part of OSL's success story. Your commitment, passion, and relentless pursuit of excellence have shaped the department into what it is today. May the next decade bring even greater accomplishments, stronger bonds, and new heights of success. Here's to 10 years of excellence and many more years of growth and achievement ahead! Happy 10th Anniversary, OSL!"

As we celebrate ten years of OSL, stories like Saiful Bhai's remind us that the department's legacy is built not only through academics but also through experiences that bring people together and create lifelong memories.

We sincerely thank Saiful Bhai for sharing his memories, thoughtful advice, and warm wishes with the OSL family as part of the Humans of OSL campaign. We are grateful for his continued connection with the department and wish him every success in his professional journey.

As part of OSL's 10 , we are reconnecting with our alumni to revisit the moments, experiences, and traditions that have shaped the Department of Organization Strategy and Leadership over the past decade.

Today, we feature Habiba Tasnin Diya (Diya Apu) from OSL's 4th Batch.

We asked Diya Apu about one memory from her OSL journey that she still cherishes. she answered:

"Game of Sophothrone."

For many members of the OSL family, Game of Sophothrones was more than just a Freshers' Receptionβ€”it was the beginning of a tradition. As one of the first Freshers' Reception programs of its kind at the University of Dhaka, it introduced newcomers to the culture of OSL through creativity, teamwork, and friendly competition. The event became a memorable milestone for many students and reflected the department's commitment to creating experiences that extend beyond the classroom.

We also asked Diya Apu what message she would like to leave for the current students of OSL. She shared:

"10 years down, and the future looks brighter than ever because we have juniors like you on board. You have got what it takes to do amazing things."

On the occasion of OSL's 10th Anniversary, she further expressed:

"Congratulations on 10 incredible years! A decade of visionary leadership has completely transformed our mindset and set us on a path of continuous growth."

As we celebrate ten years of OSL, memories like these remind us that the department's journey has been shaped not only by academic excellence but also by the traditions, events, and people who have built a vibrant and close-knit community.

We sincerely thank Diya Apu for sharing her memories and warm wishes as part of the Humans of OSL campaign. We are grateful for her continued connection with the department and wish her every success in the years ahead.

Happy 10 Years, OSL! πŸ’™

As part of the celebration of OSL's 10 – A Decade of Strategic and Entrepreneurial Leadership for an Innovative Bangladesh, we are reconnecting with our alumni to reflect on the department's journey over the past decade and to showcase the diverse fields where OSL graduates are creating impact today.

Today, we feature Md. Asif Uz Zaman Talukder from OSL's 3rd Batch, currently serving as a Customer Service Officer at Intercruises Shoreside and Port Services, Darwin Port, Australia. Working in the international tourism and port services sector, he represents the growing global footprint of OSL alumni and their contributions across industries and countries.

We asked Asif Bhai about a memorable experience from his time at OSL. He shared:

"It was middle of the January in full winter. It was Sir’s class but he didn’t arrive. So we the whole class made a campfire in the terrace on 11th floor with rubbish. There was densely fog all around. And this was one of the best time we had. So, never ever miss a single chance to celebrate a moment with your people as these are gonna be the best days of your life and make sure to take photographs."

His reflection highlights how some of the most cherished university memories are often created outside formal academic activities, through friendships, shared experiences, and moments spent together as a batch.

We also asked him what message he would like to leave for current OSL students. He said:

"These days that you are passing are the best time of your life no matter what you are into. So, never ever miss a chance to live and make the best out of it besides all these academic things and always try to check if any of your friends in the whole class need any help or anything. Be the person who shows up, have a cup of tea and talk all of them. Remember, it’s not your cgpa or position that these buddies gonna remember, it’s how you were to them that they never gonna forget and that’s what you are as a person. Life will move on but make sure you live best out of it in this timespan with your friends."

Reflecting on the department, Asif Bhai shared:

"OSL will always be in my heart as these 5 years of my life here shaped me into a totally different person and obviously a better version of mine. Best wishes to this family with the best bonding among all departments in FBS who actually come all together when it’s needed. And hats off to the juniors who are coming with creative ideas and their hard work to make this team more efficient. Happy Anniversary OSL."

As we celebrate ten years of OSL, stories like these help us understand how the department has evolved through the experiences of its students and alumni. They also remind us that the OSL journey extends far beyond graduation through the work, values, and contributions of its graduates around the world.

We sincerely thank Asif Bhai for taking the time to share his memories, reflections, and advice with the OSL community, and for being a valued part of the department's first decade of growth and achievement.

For the courses- Project: Leadership Development (OSL405) and Microeconomics of Competitiveness (OSL401), our cohort stepped out of the classroom and into the country's most vibrant commercial hubs to decode what truly drives local commerce.

This wasn't just a field visit; it was a deep dive into the real-world mechanics of supply chains, competitiveness, and leadership.

A special thank you to our visionary Chairman, Rashedur Rahman sir for orchestrating this experiential learning journey, and to our very own Mehnaz Sadeque ma'am for guiding us in connecting academic frameworks to ground realities.

Here’s a glimpse into the distinct economic ecosystems our teams explored:
