Some wrong perceptions that I once would cherish like many others do but not anymore
1. University is a place of fun, spending time just with friends, having pretty girl friend and doing masty. Study is enough before the exam night.
2. After graduation, many companies are waiting to hire me like they hired my seniors. It is not a big deal.
3. I don’t apply in a job portal since I m not called for viva or shortlisted to sit for test.
4. Feeling that I am all-in-all and no one to beat me (Over confidence)
5. And finally,After job, study stops.
What I finally realized but it’s too late
1. University is not a place of fun that we believe it is. It is a place of knowledge sharing, to learn what to learn & how to learn, to think what to think & how to think and to apply that we learn how to apply in personal & professional life. Friends are ok but good friends (girls and boys).
2. We have to believe Graduation degree is just a primary eligibility of any job requirements. No one is going to hire unless we fulfill the requirements. Seniors are successful because they have put a lot of efforts that we don’t know.
3. Applying is better than not applying for a job in any job portal or anywhere. For any application, we need to understand the job requirements and prepare the CV accordingly.
4. Confidence is okay but not over confidence. Understanding what is required for what is very important like confidence.
5. Study is a continuous process; in the era of technology one becomes obsolete without regular study. I mean career will not progress. I've read in an article where a business tycoon I don’t remember his name said “In my whole life, I have known no wise. People (over a brand new subject area) who didn’t read all the time”
Finally, we have to understand where my best interest lies and stop dealing with unnecessary matters(Facebook,Instagram,Music.ly,Whatsapp,snapchat).
i am not as successful as i could be but many can be if they realize above in early stage of their life.
