Dr. Ismail Hossain joined on 21 October, 2018 as a Professor, College of Agricultural Scieneces (CAS), International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (UBAT- University), Uttara, Dhaka. Earlier he was a Senior (Grade 1) Professor of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh. He completed B.Sc.Ag. ( Hons.) and M.Sc.(Ag.) in Plant Pathology from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh in 1975 and 1976, respectively. In 1987 he earned Dr. Agr. from Justus Liebig University (Giessen, Germany). Later in 1996 he obtained D.S.P. from Royal Veterinary & Agricultural University, Copenhagen, Denmark.

He started his career as a Scientist of Bangladesh Atommic Energy Commissiom in 1979. Thereafter, he joined to Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh in 1982. Professor Hossain earned name and fame teaching and research. He worked as a Team leader of good number of projects. He served as a Project Director, Collaborator, Partner, Chief Investigator, Principal investigator, Investigator, Sub-project Manager, Project specialist, Expert member and consultant in different Projects. Professor Dr. Hossain has published 342 scientific papers of which 94 in highly indexed and reputed International Journals and 248 in National Journals. He wrote 6 books / booklets in discipline of Agriculture.

He was Guest Professor of University of Giessen, Germany. He was Fellow of Bangladesh National Council of Science and Technology, German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD) and Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). He is overseas editor of different international journals. He is life member of good number of national and international scientific societies.

Dr. M. Sayadur Rahman is a Faculty of the College of agricultural Sciences (CAS) at IUBAT. Dr. Rahman earned his Ph.D degree in Crop Science majoring in Agronomy from the Central Luzon State University, Philippines in 1991 funded through World Bank Scholarship. He completed MScAg and BScAg (Hons) degrees in Agronomy in 1977 and in 1975 respectively from Bangladesh Agricultural University and achieved First classes/Divisions all-through his academic career. He has achieved the certificates of Merit for academic excellence during his Ph.D studies. He enjoyed Fellowship training, Scientific visit and Post doctoral Fellowship program funded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in advanced countries of the world especially at the USA, UK and China and achieved certificates.

Dr. M. Sayadur Rahman started his service career since November, 1977 as Scientific Officer under Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) and later transferred to Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) and served at the Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) in different research and executive positions for about 34 years continuously. Dr. Rahman has retired from BINA as Director General (DG). After retirement he gave service as an Advisor for the Agriculture and Food Security Program of BRAC, Bangladesh. Dr. Rahman is now recruited as Faculty of the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) of IUBAT since 27th of January, 2013.

Dr. M. S. Rahman has earned experiences in Administration, Research Management and teaching Graduate students of the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) guiding Masters’ and Ph.D studies. He has been serving as an external examiner for the Graduate and Under Graduate students of the Agronomy department of the BAU, Mymensingh.

Dr. Rahman loves teaching as well as research in the field of Crop Science. He is dedicated to his field of specialization and very much willing to contribute for improvement in different sectors of professional societies of Bangladesh. He joined the IUBAT with an intention to serve for the development of the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) and the IUBAT as a whole based on the Philosophy of IUBAT.
Dr. Rahman comes from a Muslim family in Mohanganj Upozilla of Netrokona district. He is happily married in 1977 and has got two precious sons, both of them passed Masters’ degree with specialization in Management and Public Administration.

I would urge upon everyone of the IUBAT professional community to extend whole hearted cooperation to Dr. Rahman to carryout his professional activities to enrich student community of the CAS as well as IUBAT as a whole.

Prof. Dr Anil Chandra Basak was born in Mymensingh on 30th October, 1950 and got his S.S.C. in 1967 from Shakuai High School, Haluaghat, Mymensingh and H.S.C. in 1969 from Gurudayal College, Kishoreganj under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka. He received first Degree on B. Sc. in 1971 from Gurudayal College, Kishoreganj and second degree on B. Ed. from the Teacher’s Training College, Mymensingh under Dhaka University, M. Sc. on Botany from the Rajshahi University in 1974 and had been awarded Ph. D. on Plant Pathology from Jahangirnagar University. Prof. Basak began his career by joining the Bangladesh Forest Research Institute (BFRI), Chittagong on 11th November, 1977 and completed Govt. job on 29th October, 2007.

During his 30 years long service, Dr Basak participated in many national and international seminars, workshops and training courses; worked for more than five years as an Editor of the official magazine, ‘Bangladesh Journal of Forest Science’ of BFRI. Dr Basak was trained on ‘Identification of Fungus and Bacteria of Agricultural Importance’ from the Commonwealth Mycological Institute (CMI, now IMI), London, U.K. and has published several scientific publications in both the national and international peer reviewed scientific journals.

Dr Basak joined the IUBAT on 22nd February, 2009 and currently is working as a Professor under the College of Agricultural Sciences of IUBAT University. Prof. Basak has interest in conducting research works as well as activities related to social and in several fields of education.

Professor Dr Mohammed Ataur Rahman is the Director of Centre for Global Environmental Culture (CGEC) and Program on Education for Sustainability and Professor of College of Agricultural Sciences at IUBAT University. Professor Rahman is a Plantation Crop, Forestry and Agriculture Specialist and also Coordinator of WWOOF Bangladesh. As a Faculty of Agriculture, he teaches Ecology and Crop Climatology, Environmental Science, Sustainable and Urban Agriculture and Plant Physiology. Professor Rahman worked as Contributing Author with Late Professor M Alimullah Miyan, Former Vice Chancellor and Lead Author IPCC Working Group II and Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) and Disaster Management. He is also entrusted with the Indian Journal of Humanities (IJH) as Chief Editor. Moreover, he is the Executive Director and Coordinator of RCE Greater Dhaka acknowledged by UNU-IAS.

Professor Rahman is also working as Chief Consultant of Forestry, Environment, Plantation Crops and Permaculture Consultancy and Research (FEPPCAR), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Previously, He worked as a Senior Manager, Forestry and Plantation Crops, with 13 and a half years of experience in the Finlays’ Plantation Industry of Bangladesh working with a number of the World’s leading brands including Finlay Tea, Timber, Bamboo, Rubber, Canes and Black pepper, Betel Leaf etc. He possess specialised knowledge of environmental and habitat of Tropical Forest Plants, especially, Tea and Rubber and Non-Timber Forest crops.

Prof. Dr. Md. Emdadul Haque is a Faculty of College of agricultural Sciences (CAS) at IUBAT. He obtained BSc (Ag) (Hon) and MSc (Ag) from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He served 32 years at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) at Entomology and Vertebrate Pest Division as Scientific Officer to Chief Scientific Officer. While serving at BARI he obtained MS from Philippines and PhD from Dhaka University.

He received a certificate for his outstanding publication from Denver Wildlife Research Centre, Colorado, USA. He received two gold medals and also received an honor crest from Bangladesh Entomological Society for the contribution of his Entomology and Vertebrate Pest Research. Dr. Haque has published 67 scientific articles including 19 international in different journals and also published three books. He has been engaged in teaching from 1st September 2007 at IUBAT.
