মুহাম্মদ ফাওজুল কবির খান ১৯৭৯ সালে বাংলাদেশ সিভিল সার্ভিসে উর্ত্তীর্ণ হন। ১৯৮৯ সালে তিনি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বোস্টন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে অর্থনীতিতে পিএইচডি ডিগ্রি লাভ করেন। সরকারি চাকরি থেকে লিয়েন নিয়ে তিনি ১৯৯২ থেকে ১৯৯৫ সাল পর্যন্ত সিঙ্গাপুর জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অর্থনীতি বিভাগে অধ্যাপনা করেন। ১৯৯৮ সালে তিনি ইডকল প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন ও ২০০৭ সাল পর্যন্ত তিনি সেখানে প্রধান নির্বাহী হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। ২০০৭ সাল থেকে ২০০৯ সাল পর্যন্ত তিনি বিদ্যুৎ, জ্বালানি ও খনিজ সম্পদ মন্ত্রণালয়ের অধীনস্থ বিদ্যুৎ বিভাগের সচিব ছিলেন।
২০০৯ সালে তিনি অবসর নেন। অবসরের পর থেকে ২০১৪ সাল পর্যন্ত তিনি নর্থ-সাউথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অর্থনীতি ও অর্থসংস্থান বিভাগে অধ্যাপনা করেন।বর্তমানে তিনি ইউনাইটেড ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটিতে অধ্যাপক হিসেবে কর্মরত।
তিনি ২০২৪ সালের ১৬ আগস্ট বাংলাদেশের অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার এর উপদেষ্টা হিসেবে নিযুক্ত হনএবং বিদ্যুৎ, জ্বালানি ও খনিজ সম্পদ মন্ত্রণালয়, সড়ক পরিবহন ও সেতু মন্ত্রণালয় ও রেলপথ মন্ত্রণালয়ের উপদেষ্টা হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পান।

An effective meeting of the Curriculum Development and Review Committee of the Department of Economics, BSECO Program, United International University was held on 31 January, 2026 in the room number 1001. The UIU Junior Economists' Forum - UIUJEF was honored to collaborate with the Notre Dame Sociology-Economic Club in conducting a specialized academic workshop on "Policy Dialogue" this past Wednesday at Notre Dame College, Dhaka.
