Industrial Visit at Ananda Shipyard & Slipways Ltd.

As part of our 𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝟑𝟑𝟖 project, we had the opportunity to visit 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐲𝐚𝐫𝐝 & 𝐒𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐋𝐭𝐝. We were divided into four groups under the supervision of four instructors, allowing us to observe and analyse various stages of the shipbuilding process firsthand.

The visit gave us valuable practical exposure to material processing, fabrication, welding, block construction, outfitting, and other shipbuilding operations. We also had the opportunity to closely observe the equipment and ongoing construction of a 110-metre multipurpose container-cargo vessel, a multipurpose catamaran, and a passenger vessel with cabins and provision for carrying three cars, followed by an interactive Q&A session that allowed us to discuss our observations and clarify technical aspects of the shipbuilding process.

The experience was an excellent opportunity to connect our classroom knowledge with real-world shipbuilding practices. We are sincerely grateful to 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐲𝐚𝐫𝐝 & 𝐒𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐋𝐭𝐝. for their exceptional hospitality, warm reception, and generous support throughout the visit. Special thanks to 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌. 𝗔 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝘀 🇧🇩

We are proud to share that 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗩𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘅, a team of five BUET students currently working on 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗱𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗜, has achieved two significant recognitions.

𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗱𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗜 is a research driven initiative focused on addressing the renewable energy data gap in South Asia through rooftop solar feasibility mapping. The platform aims to use data and AI to assess rooftop solar potential, estimate potential solar capacity, and support more informed renewable energy planning and deployment.

At the 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, a global competition jointly organised with the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, 𝟯𝟭𝟯 teams comprising 𝟭,𝟮𝟮𝟵 students from 𝟮𝟮𝟰 institutions across 𝟯𝟬 countries participated. We are honoured to share that 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗩𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘅 has been selected as one of the 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟭𝟬 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀. Only 𝘁𝘄𝗼 teams from South Asia have made it to the Global Top 10, and 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗩𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘅 is the only team from BUET to qualify. The final round will take place at the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, 𝗟𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, this October.

Earlier, Team Vortex also became the 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 of the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Renewable Energy Idea Contest 2026, emerging at the top among more than 𝟯𝟬𝟬 participating teams.

The Leeds Final presents a valuable opportunity for them to represent 𝗕𝗨𝗘𝗧 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵 on an international platform. However, travelling to the UK as a five member team involves a significant financial commitment.

We are sharing this appeal with our wider community and well wishers for 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 that may help Team Vortex make this journey possible.
