The Millennium Fellowship is a fully funded global leadership program that equips undergraduate students with world-class training, mentorship, and international exposure while working on initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Last year, two students from the University of Dhaka demonstrated exceptional leadership and impact as Campus Directors. A few notable examples include:

Project: Ecollab
Led by Mashrufa Hussain
This initiative empowered 120 DU students from all 64 districts of Bangladesh through a structured program on climate advocacy, leadership, and sustainability. The project resulted in:

60 workshops across 60 districts, engaging 2,500 participants

Tree-planting initiatives in 20+ cities with 65+ trees planted

Climate Connect 2024, a global initiative involving participants from Bangladesh, Nigeria, Jordan, Indonesia, and Brazil

Social media outreach reaching 9,000+ individuals

Project: Bonhi – A Movement for Justice, Climate & Childhood
Led by Tashfia (Tifa)
Bonhi is a youth-led movement addressing the intersection of climate change, child rights, and women’s health, especially within vulnerable communities. The initiative focuses on community workshops, awareness campaigns, and advocacy around climate education, child protection, and women’s health issues.

Additionally, students from 24 different departments of the University of Dhaka were selected as Millennium Fellows, with one serving as Campus Director, reflecting strong interdisciplinary leadership and representation from our institution.

We respectfully request your kind support in sharing this opportunity with undergraduate students within your faculty/department who are interested in leadership, social impact, and global engagement.

Please note that a campus requires at least 8 undergraduate applicants to be eligible, though 15–20+ applications are strongly encouraged.
