𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲’𝐬 𝐒𝐁𝐒 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 & 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬

The School of Business Studies (SBS) of Southeast University organized a seminar titled “Beyond the Degree: Workplace Etiquette & Essential Interpersonal Skills for Business Graduates” on Thursday, 24 September 2026, at Seminar Hall 618 on the Southeast University campus.

The seminar aimed to prepare final-year BBA students for a smooth transition from academic life to the professional workplace by enhancing their understanding of workplace etiquette, professional communication, interpersonal skills, and appropriate workplace behaviour.

Mr. Md. Samrat Hossain, Senior Officer & Relationship Manager, Mutual Trust Bank, Dhaka, served as the resource person. Drawing on his professional experience in the banking and corporate sectors, he shared practical insights into workplace expectations, professional conduct, effective communication, interpersonal relationships, and essential skills for navigating the early stages of a professional career.

Prof. Dr. Md. Serajul Islam, Dean, SBS, and Dr. Farhana Ferdousi, Director, BBA, along with faculty members and students, attended the seminar.

The seminar was coordinated by Dr. Faieza Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, SBS. The session concluded with an emphasis on the importance of going beyond academic qualifications and developing the personal and professional qualities essential for a successful career.

সাউথইস্ট ইউনিভার্সিটির বাংলা ভাষা ও সাহিত্য বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীরা গত ২৪ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৬, বৃহস্পতিবার দৈনিক আগামীর সময় পত্রিকার কার্যালয় পরিদর্শন করেছেন । সহকারী অধ্যাপক ড. নূর নাহার শারমিন সুলতানার নেতৃত্বে বিভাগের ৪০ শিক্ষার্থী সহ-পাঠ্যক্রমিক কার্যক্রমের অংশ হিসেবে সম্ভাব‍্য কর্মক্ষেত্র ও কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ সম্পর্কে বাস্তবধর্মী ধারণা পেতেই এই পরিদর্শন করেন। সাংবাদিকতাকে ক্যারিয়ার হিসেবে বেছে নেওয়ার জন্য শিক্ষার্থীদের হাতে-কলমে ধারণা প্রদানের উদ্দেশ্যে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টির নিয়মিত কর্মসূচীর আলোকে এ পরিদর্শন কার্যক্রম অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

শিক্ষার্থীরা পত্রিকার বিভিন্ন বিভাগ ঘুরে দেখেন এবং রিপোর্টিং, সম্পাদনা, মুদ্রণ ইত্যাদি বিষয়ে আগামীর সময়ের সাংবাদিক ও কর্মীদের থেকে হাতেকলমে ধারণা লাভ করেন। আগামীর সময়-এর হেড অব ক্রিয়েটিভ, রিসার্চ অ্যান্ড ইভেন্টস (সাহিত্য সম্পাদক) শিমুল সালাহ্উদ্দিন শিক্ষার্থীদের বিভিন্ন বিভাগ ঘুরিয়ে দেখান ও কর্মীদের সঙ্গে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেন। এ সময় ডেপুটি ফিচার এডিটর রুদ্র আরিফ ও ইশতিয়াক হাসান, সিনিয়র সাব-এডিটর সাঈদ জুবেরী, এডিটর-ক্রাইম মাহবুবুল আলম লাবলু, হেড অব মাল্টিমিডিয়া আপেল মাহমুদ নিজ নিজ বিভাগের কার্যক্রম সম্পর্কে শিক্ষার্থীদের বর্ণনা করেন। তারা শিক্ষার্থীদের নানা প্রশ্নের জবাব দেন।

আগামীর সময়ের সম্পাদক মোস্তফা মামুনের সাথে শিক্ষার্থীদের মতবিনিময় সেশনে নিজের অভিজ্ঞতার কথা তুলে ধরেন। তিনি শিক্ষার্থীদের বিভিন্ন প্রশ্নের উত্তরে তাদের ক্যারিয়ার গঠনে মূল্যবান দিকনির্দেশনা প্রদান করেন।

𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐏 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔
Several Southeast University students attended the 2nd Bangladesh Field Epidemiology Training Program Conference 2026 organized by the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), along with Prof. Dr. Hasnat M. Alamgir, Director of the Institute of Research and Training (IRT) and a professor of Pharmacy. Dr. Alamgir served as the Co-Chair of an Oral Presentation Session. Two SEU students, Md. Suzzat Hossain Sunny and Maharonnaca Akhi, presented their research titled “Physical Health, Hygiene and Living Condition of Children in Orphans in Bangladesh: A Cross-Sectional Study,” and Md. Samiul Islam presented an IRT-funded research “Improving Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) of Informal Workers of Tejgaon: Provision of PPE and OSH Training.” Dr. M A Muhit, MP, State Minister, and Mr. Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain, MP, Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, were present at the opening and closing ceremonies. Several other students from the Department of Pharmacy, Southeast University, also participated in the conference, reflecting SEU’s active engagement in and support for students to attend national research conferences.

The IEEE Computer Society Southeast University Student Branch Chapter, in collaboration with the Center for Cyber Security (CCS), Southeast University, successfully organized “Exploring Cyber Security: From Practical Proficiency to Professional Pathways” on 13 September 2026 at Shaheed Imtiaz Hall (SEU618).
The programme featured two engaging sessions on practical cybersecurity and professional development. A. S. M. Shamim Reza, Founder & Managing Director, The Team Phoenix Group, led “Building the Future of Cybersecurity: Capacity Building and Industry Opportunities,” sharing insights on industry opportunities and professional pathways. Abid Ahmad, Lecturer, Department of CSE and Coordinator, CCS, conducted “Zero-Dollar Checkout: A Live Hacking Session on E-Commerce Logic Flaws,” offering participants practical exposure to real-world security vulnerabilities.
The session was graced by Prof. M. Mofazzal Hossain, PhD, SM IEEE, Pro Vice Chancellor, Southeast University; Prof. Abdul Kadar Muhammad Masum, PhD, SM IEEE, Treasurer, IEEE Computer Society BDC, Dean, School of Engineering & Director, IQAC, Southeast University; Shahriar Manzoor, Chairman & Associate Professor, Department of CSE, Southeast University; Dr. Md. Maruf Hassan, Director, Center for Cyber Security (CCS), Southeast University; Dr. Mohammed Ashikur Rahman, Chairman & Associate Professor, Department of ICT; Dr. Md. Asif Hossain, Associate Professor, Department of EEE & Counselor, IEEE SEU Student Branch, Southeast University; and Khandaker Mohammad Mohi Uddin, Advisor, IEEE Computer Society SEU Student Branch Chapter.
The event provided participants with practical exposure, industry insights, and a broader understanding of cybersecurity and career opportunities in the field.

The MBA Research Committee of the School of Business Studies (SBS), Southeast University organized a Brown Bag Session – Faculty Research Presentation Forum on 17 September 2026 at Room 533, Southeast University. The session was inaugurated with a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Md. Serajul Islam, Dean, SBS and Dr. Fuad Hasan, Professor and Director, MBA Program who emphasized the importance of fostering a strong research culture and encouraging scholarly engagement among faculty members. Dr. Farhana Ferdousi, Director DBA & Associate Professor, SBS, was also present at the event and extended her encouragement and support toward the initiative. The session featured research presentations by Sidratul Muntaha Iqra, Lecturer, SBS; Sumaiya Islam, Lecturer, SBS; and Sultana Yeasmin, Lecturer, SBS. The Brown Bag Session was introduced as an academic platform for faculty members to present research ideas, work-in-progress studies, conceptual frameworks, and scholarly work while receiving constructive feedback and exchanging knowledge with colleagues.
The Brown Bag Session concluded with the Award of Certificates by Prof. Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Southeast University. The successful organization of the session marks an important step toward strengthening the research culture at School of Business Studies at Southeast University by promoting knowledge sharing, constructive academic discussion, research collaboration, and continuous scholarly engagement among faculty members. The event was coordinated by members of the MBA Research Committee, including Dr. Fuad Hasan, Professor and Director, MBA Program; Dr. Oli Ahad Thakur, Professor, SBS; Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor, SBS; Dr. Md.
