We are delighted to congratulate two of our meritorious students Prionti Laticia Rebeiro and Raheel Binte Ferdaush of the Department of Microbiology, Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB), for being selected for the prestigious “iSURE – International Summer Undergraduate Research Experience” program in the University of Notre Dame Indiana, USA.
This is a highly competitive and fully funded International Summer Research Program for 8 weeks, where students from different countries come together to participate in advanced research activities. The program covers meals, accommodation, medical insurance, and all on-campus facilities.

We are proud and deeply grateful to the NDUB Administration, the Department of Microbiology, NDUB, and the entire NDUB family for their unwavering support and cooperation for the entire process, including English Language Test, immunization, visa processing, SEVIS fees, and transportation expenses.

We are also proud and deeply grateful to the University of Notre Dame Indiana, USA. for allowing, supporting and fully funding these two summer students.

Through this opportunity, our students will gain:

On 9th December 2025, we were honored to host an insightful and inspiring seminar at the Department of Microbiology, Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB).

Dr. Nihad Adnan, Professor and Chairman, Department of Microbiology, Jahangirnagar University, delivered a thought-provoking session titled “Microbes, Technology, and Innovation: Why the Future Belongs to You.” His engaging discussion highlighted the transformative power of microbiology in shaping future technologies and encouraged students to explore innovative pathways in research and development.

The seminar was presided over by Dr. Md. Shahidul Kabir, Professor and Chairman, Department of Microbiology, Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB).

The event was attended by faculty members, staff, and students from multiple batches, making it a vibrant and intellectually stimulating gathering. The session fostered curiosity, motivation, and a deeper appreciation for the role of microbiology in driving innovation.

A respected professor, along with two students from Dong-Eui University, South Korea, had the opportunity to meet our honorable Vice-Chancellor Dr. Fr. Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, Chairman Md. Shahidul Kabir, Ph.D., esteemed Faculty members, and enthusiastic students of the Department of Microbiology, Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) at 23rd April, 2026. The visit fostered a meaningful exchange of ideas, academic experiences, and future collaboration possibilities in the field of Microbiology and research.

The students of the Department of Microbiology at Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) achieved remarkable success across various segments of indoor and outdoor games in 2025 and 2026. Their outstanding performances have brought pride and recognition to the department and the university.

From MICR-1, Amy Agnes Costa secured the 1st prize in the Ludo competition.

From MICR-2, Trisha Maria Gomes and Ahona Hossain achieved the Runner-up position in the Carrom competition.

From MICR-3, Nuzaima Ahasan Nisoara demonstrated excellent athletic performance by securing 1st place in Shot Put and 2nd place in Discus Throw.

From MICR-4, MD. Samiul Islam Khan earned 2nd place in Shot Put.

The Department of Microbiology warmly congratulates these talented students for their remarkable achievements.
