Our hearts are still full from an unforgettable ULAB Faculty Retreat 2026! This year's cultural program brought out incredible hidden talents, and watching our campus community come together to put on a show like no other was truly special.

ULAB Center for Language Studies (CLS) had the absolute pleasure of teaming up with our wonderful colleagues from the GED Department for a joint performance! Through a rich tapestry of four soulful songs, a moving recitation, and a breathtaking narrative celebrating nature, patriotism, and love, we wanted every piece to carry a deeper symbolism—reflecting the roots of our identity, the harmony of the environment around us, the unwavering pride we hold, and the universal language of human connection. 🌱🇧🇩❤️

By weaving these themes together through shared creative ideas and amazing teamwork, we brought our vision to life—and we are delighted to share that we won the Cultural Show! 🏆

We extend our deepest gratitude to all the faculty members of GED and CLS for coming together under one umbrella, to our Vice Chancellor for constant encouragement, and to the amazing audience whose energy and cheers made our performance truly a lively one!

The Center for Language Studies (CLS) is delighted to announce that enrolment is now open for non-ULAB participants in its Certificate Course in French Language (A1.1 Level). Starting this Fall Semester, language enthusiasts from outside ULAB are welcome to apply and embark on an engaging journey of learning French in a supportive and interactive environment.

The course will be conducted by Ms. Sonia Yaz Alam, a Paris-born French language expert and trainer. It is designed for absolute beginners and will consist of 8 classes, with two classes per week, according to the following schedule:

Days: Wednesday & Thursday
Time: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

In today's globalized world, basic proficiency in French is a valuable asset that can enhance your academic, professional, and cultural opportunities. As one of the world’s major languages, French is spoken across five continents and serves as an official language in numerous international organizations. Learning French can open doors to higher education, international careers, and cross-cultural communication, both at home and abroad.

This A1.1 Certificate Course offers a structured, beginner-friendly introduction to the French language, enabling learners to develop essential communication skills and build a strong foundation for further study.

The Center for Language Studies (CLS) at ULAB invites energetic volunteers to assist with the ULAB–TESOL BD 2nd International Conference on ESP 2026 on 9 October 2026.

Volunteers will support registration, venue logistics, and guest management while gaining valuable networking experience with international scholars and industry leaders.
