On 10 May 2026, the Orientation for Batch 69 and Farewell Program of Batch 60 of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was successfully organized by the SUB Computing Club with great enthusiasm, joy, and emotion. The event beautifully combined the warm welcome of the freshers and the heartfelt farewell of the newly graduated students of Batch 60.
The program was honored by the presence of respected faculty members, departmental staff, students from different batches, seniors, freshers, and well-wishers, whose participation made the program even more vibrant and memorable.
The program officially began with opening remarks by the anchors, who warmly welcomed everyone present. Following the opening session, flowers were distributed among the freshers and graduates as a symbol of warm wishes, appreciation, and new beginnings.
The respected Chairman of the Department, Dr. Pintu Chandra Shill, then delivered his welcoming speech. He warmly greeted the freshers and shared valuable guidance for their academic journey ahead. At the same time, he congratulated the graduating students of Batch 60 and wished them success in their future careers and personal lives.
The next speech was delivered by Musfica Islam Lamiya from Batch 65. Her speech was both motivational and emotional, as she encouraged the freshers with valuable advice regarding university life, academics, and personal growth. She also highlighted the strong bonding and supportive environment within the department.
Representing the Computing Club, Tarannum Tasnim Samara introduced the club’s activities, objectives, and opportunities for students. Sharing her own university journey and experiences, she inspired the freshers to actively participate in co-curricular activities and make the most of campus life.
Later, Priyonti Noor Tasnim from the fresher batch shared her experiences after joining the university. She expressed her excitement about the friendly campus environment, supportive teachers, and the wonderful friendships she had already built within such a short time.
An emotional speech was then delivered by Aysha Islam from the graduating Batch 60. She reflected on her memorable university life, the guidance and support of the teachers, and the invaluable experiences she gained throughout her academic journey. Her heartfelt words created an emotional atmosphere among the audience.
One of the most significant moments of the program was the Crest Distribution Ceremony, where the newly graduated students of Batch 60 were honored with crests as a token of appreciation and recognition. Respected faculty members personally handed over the crests and congratulated the graduates, making the moment even more memorable.
Following the ceremony, the cultural program officially began. The first performance was a beautiful song by Zabir, which energized and entertained the audience. Next, Sadia Afrin and Prapty Haldar presented a graceful duet performance that beautifully captured the bond between seniors and juniors. Afterward, Prattashi performed an impressive solo dance performance that captivated everyone present.
The cultural segment concluded with a heartfelt song performance by Mostofa. As the event took place on Mother’s Day, he dedicated his performance to all mothers. The emotional tribute deeply touched the audience and created a truly memorable ending to the cultural segment.
Finally, Shah Riza Fahad Hossain, Proctor, State University of Bangladesh, delivered the vote of thanks. In his closing speech, he expressed sincere gratitude to the respected teachers, organizers, performers, graduates, freshers, students of different batches, staff members, and all participants for making the event successful and memorable.
With joyful memories, emotional moments, and heartfelt appreciation, the Orientation and Farewell Program 2026 concluded in a warm, vibrant, and memorable atmosphere.
