The Institute of Business and Economic Research (IBER) of United International University (UIU) successfully organized an Orientation Program for students enrolled in various Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) programs. The program was held on January 9, 2026 and was attended by students from PGDHRM, PGDSCM, PGDDS, PGDTM, PGDDM, and PGDPM programs.
The orientation session aimed to familiarize newly admitted students with the academic structure, course outcomes, and career prospects of the PGD programs, while also providing insights into the current job market and professional skill development.
The program was graced by the presence of several distinguished faculty members and industry professionals. Dr. Md. Musharrof Hossain, Faculty Member of IBER, UIU, delivered an insightful session on the importance of postgraduate diploma programs in todayโs competitive job market. An internationally renowned HR professional, Dr. Hossain is the recipient of numerous national and international awards, including the Lifetime HR Achievement Award and the Global HR Leader Award. He shared his extensive professional experience and emphasized the role of continuous learning, leadership, and adaptability in career advancement.
Dr. Md. Qamruzzaman, Professor at United International University and Director of IBER, UIUโwho is also listed among the Top 2% Scientists in the Worldโaddressed the students and highlighted the academic vision of IBER. He discussed the relevance of PGD programs in bridging academic knowledge with industry requirements and encouraged students to make the best use of academic and professional opportunities offered by the institute.
The session was further enriched by A. B. M. Kalim Ullah, PMP, ACS, CGIA, DASSM, CLSSGB, a seasoned project management professional and senior business consultant. He shared valuable insights on project management practices, professional certifications, and real-world industry challenges, motivating students to pursue professional excellence alongside academic learning.
Md. Aksadur Rahman, an experienced Data Science and Machine Learning Trainer, also contributed to the program. With extensive professional expertise as an Analyst, Program Manager, Project Manager, Lead Business Analyst, ERP Consultant, Supply Chain Consultant, and QA Manager, he discussed the growing demand for data-driven skills across industries. He emphasized the importance of analytics, automation, and interdisciplinary knowledge in shaping successful careers in the modern job market.
Industry perspectives were also shared by Aadil Choudhury, PMP, a Core Network Engineer at Huawei Technologies Bangladesh Ltd., who spoke about career development in the technology and telecommunications sector. Additionally, Md. Aktaruzzaman, CMA (USA), PMP, Vice President and Finance Reporting Lead Analyst at Citibank N.A., Bangladesh, discussed career pathways in finance, regulatory compliance, and global banking, emphasizing the importance of analytical skills, ethics, and professional certifications.
During the interactive session, the Director of IBER engaged directly with students, addressing their questions related to course structure, evaluation methods, and career opportunities. Students actively participated in the discussion and shared their expectations from the programs.
The orientation program concluded with an encouraging message emphasizing the significance of postgraduate diploma education in enhancing employability, professional competence, and long-term career growth in the evolving job market.
