Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) was established under the Private University Act in the year 2003 modelled on North American Universities, with the approval of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh. It was founded by Dhaka Commerce College, Mirpur- 2, Dhaka, and is managed by a Board of Trustees and a Syndicate. It has been providing quality education and training since its very inception. At present BUBT has established itself as a top ranking Private University in the country, not only by fulfilling all of the requirements of the Private University Act, 2010, but also by maintaining the standard of education, research facilities, transparent examination system, updated academic programs, necessary physical infrastructures, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, modern facilities for the students and a disciplined environment.

BUBT Math Jamboree 2026 | Undergraduate Math Olympiad & Seminar on “Future Pathways of Applied Mathematics”

274 participants. 90 minutes. 40 mathematical challenges. One shared passion for mathematics. On Saturday, 17 October 2026, the Department of Mathematics & Statistics, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), successfully organised BUBT Math Jamboree 2026 at the BUBT Campus, Mirpur-2, Dhaka. The event brought together 274 undergraduate students from 41 universities and colleges across Bangladesh, including BUET, KUET, CUET, SUST, IUT, the University of Dhaka, East West University, Jagannath University, and many others.

Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Honourable Vice-Chancellor of BUBT, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Hakim Khan, Dean, Faculty of Science, BUET, delivered the keynote speech.

Prof. Dr. Engr. Syed Abdul Mofiz, Acting Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering and Chairman, Department of Civil Engineering, BUBT, and Dr. K. M. Ariful Kabir, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, BUET, and Member Secretary of the 16th National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad 2025, attended as Special Guests. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Forhad Uddin, Head, Department of Mathematics, BUET, also graced the occasion. The keynote session was chaired by Dr. Md. Abdul Hye, Chairman, Department of Mathematics & Statistics, BUBT, and Convener of the Jamboree.

🏆 The Math Olympiad
Following the grand opening at 9:00 AM, participants competed across eight examination halls from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, solving 40 challenging problems in Calculus, Linear Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Vector Analysis, Probability, Number Theory, and Analytical Reasoning.

🎤 Seminar: Future Pathways of Applied Mathematics
The seminar began with an inspiring video message from Chamok Hasan. In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Hakim Khan highlighted the vital role of mathematics in engineering, medicine, weather forecasting, finance, data science, and emerging technologies.
Dr. Md. Abdul Hye, Session Chair and Convener, emphasised the growing importance of mathematics in artificial intelligence, scientific research, and diverse career pathways. He also introduced BUBT's M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics programme, encouraging students to pursue advanced mathematical studies.
In the afternoon session, Prof. Dr. Engr. Syed Abdul Mofiz appreciated the participants' enthusiasm and passion for mathematics, while Dr. K. M. Ariful Kabir highlighted the essential role of mathematics in engineering disciplines, including CSE, EEE, and Civil Engineering.

Voice of Justice | 1st BUBT National Law Olympiad 2026 Powered By ADBL

The BUBT Law Club successfully organized Voice of Justice – 1st BUBT National Law Olympiad 2026 on 10 October 2026 at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), Dhaka.

The event brought together 30 teams from 16 universities across the country, providing a competitive platform for law students to demonstrate their legal knowledge, critical thinking, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills.

The results of the competition are as follows:
Champion: Legal Eagles, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP)
Runner-up: Lex Veritas – Law & Truth, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT)

BUBT International Affairs Office welcomed Rajiv Kumar Sah, Founder and CEO of ndc Education, Nepal, and Md. Jahangir Hossain, Deputy Registrar of Khulna University, during their visit to Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT).

Dr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Director of BUBT International Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib, Dean of the BUBT Research Graduate School, welcomed the two visiting guests. They also engaged in discussions on international student recruitment and website development.

The discussion focused on strategies for attracting and enrolling international students at BUBT. The participants also exchanged views on upgrading the university’s website to improve accessibility and provide clear, relevant information for prospective international students.

The meeting provided an opportunity to explore ways to strengthen international engagement and enhance BUBT’s digital presence in support of international student recruitment.
