Global Assessment Fair 2025 Held at IER, DU: A Celebration of Global Learning and Innovation!
The Department of Educational Evaluation and Research (EER) at the Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of Dhaka, organized a day-long Global Assessment Fair 2025, showcasing assessment systems of 13 different countries through interactive stalls, innovative materials, and engaging presentations.
From 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, the IER Conference Room transformed into a vibrant and intellectually stimulating space where 13 postgraduate students of EER exhibited their in-depth research and creative displays on global assessment practices. With a perfect blend of academic rigor and artistic presentation, each student represented one country, designing models, posters, infographics, charts, games, and live demonstrations to highlight the unique assessment structures, policies, and pedagogical insights of the nations they explored.
The event was inaugurated by the Director of IER, Professor Hosne Ara Begum, who applauded the initiative for its contribution to developing comparative educational understanding. The fair was supervised by Professor Dr. Sumera Ahsan, under whose guidance the event unfolded seamlessly, and was attended by other faculty members and numerous visitors from within and beyond the institute.
Throughout the day, the stalls drew a continuous flow of enthusiastic visitors, including students, academics, and education professionals. Attendees not only explored comparative assessment practices but also engaged in live quizzes, interactive games, and creative challenges designed by the stall presenters. Souvenirs and small gifts were distributed to quiz winners and engaged visitors, adding warmth and joy to the learning ambiance.
Each stall organizer at the fair demonstrated deep academic understanding, practical communication skills, and passionate presentation abilities, turning their stalls into miniature learning hubs.
The Assessment Fair 2025 was not just an academic event but a celebration of global education, creative pedagogy, and student excellence. It reinforced IERâs commitment to nurturing globally aware, research-oriented educationists with the ability to think critically, compare analytically, and innovate contextually.
