In the 𝐔𝐈 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, announced on 24 September in Baku, Azerbaijan, World University of Bangladesh has risen 60 places in Asia and 106 places worldwide compared to the previous year. WUB is now ranked 4th among Bangladeshi universities in this ranking and sits inside the world's top 500.

WUB organizes ‘STEM Carnival’ to foster interest in science and technology among youth

‘WUB STEM Carnival 2026’ was held at the World University of Bangladesh (WUB) to foster interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) among the youth and showcase their creativity and innovative skills. Students from various colleges across the country participated in the event, held on 22 December at the WUB campus in Uttara, Dhaka.

Through various science-based competitions and innovative activities, students had the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

M Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the World University of Bangladesh, attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest. The event was officially inaugurated at the university’s ‘Founding President’s Auditorium.’ AKM Shariful Alam, the University Registrar, and Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, jointly inaugurated the program.

Students from various departments participated in several competitions, including a Math Olympiad, Science and ICT Olympiads, a quiz competition, and a project showcase at the event.

A total prize pool of Tk3 lakh was allocated for the event; winners received cash prizes, certificates, and crests, while all participants were awarded certificates of participation.

সম্প্রতি ঢাকার উত্তরায় ওয়ার্ল্ড ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশ ক্যাম্পাসে দিনব্যাপী এ কার্নিভালে দেশের শতাধিক কলেজের শিক্ষার্থীরা অংশগ্রহণ করে। বিজ্ঞানভিত্তিক বিভিন্ন প্রতিযোগিতা ও উদ্ভাবনী কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের জ্ঞান, সৃজনশীলতা, বিশ্লেষণী চিন্তা ও সমস্যা সমাধানের দক্ষতা প্রদর্শনের সুযোগ পায়।

World University of Bangladesh (WUB) organized WUB STEM Carnival 2026 on September 22, 2026 at WUB campus with the aim of inspiring young minds and promoting excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

The day-long carnival brought together students from colleges across Bangladesh, providing them with an engaging platform to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills through a range of competitive and innovative activities.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of World University of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. The carnival officially commenced at the Founding Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury Auditorium in his presence. Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar; Professor Dr. AQM Shafiul Azam, Dean of Academic Affairs and Research; and Professor Dr. Mohammad Quamruzzaman, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, World University of Bangladesh, were also present at the programme.

𝐖𝐔𝐁 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐉𝐓𝐄𝐂 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐝 𝟓.𝟎

Students of the Department of Textile Engineering, World University of Bangladesh (WUB), have won four awards at JTEC Olympiad 5.0. The competition was held at the Jhenaidah Textile Engineering College campus on September 18, 2026.

The Olympiad brought together students from 25 textile engineering institutions across the country. Participants were tested through written rounds, real-world case simulations, and public speaking segments. WUB competed in three segments and secured top-three positions in all three.

The WUB contingent was led by Md. Ariful Hossain Faisal, Lecturer, Department of Textile Engineering.

যুক্তরাজ্যের ইউনিভার্সিটি অব লিডসের সহযোগিতায় ওয়ার্ল্ড ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশ (ডব্লিউইউবি) ‘ফ্রম কোলাবোরেশন টু পাবলিকেশন: অ্যাডভান্সিং রিসার্চ এক্সেলেন্স’ (সহযোগিতা থেকে প্রকাশনা: গবেষণার উৎকর্ষ সাধন) শীর্ষক একটি কর্মশালার আয়োজন করে।

মঙ্গলবার (১৫ সেপ্টেম্বর) ডব্লিউইউবি-এর ‘ফাউন্ডিং ট্রেজারার মোরশেদা চৌধুরী অডিটরিয়াম’-এ এ কর্মশালার আয়োজন করা হয়।

কর্মশালাটি পরিচালনা করেন ইউনিভার্সিটি অব লিডসের ইন্টারন্যাশনাল বিজনেস বিভাগের প্রধান অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ ফয়সাল আহাম্মাদ। আন্তর্জাতিক একাডেমিক ও গবেষণা সহযোগিতা জোরদার করার সুযোগগুলো অন্বেষণ করতে ডব্লিউইউবির একাডেমিক নেতৃত্ব, শিক্ষক ও জ্যেষ্ঠ শিক্ষার্থীরা এই আয়োজনে অংশ নেন।

কর্মশালায় গবেষণার উৎকর্ষ বৃদ্ধি ও একাডেমিক সহযোগিতার মাধ্যমে উচ্চমানের গবেষণা প্রকাশনার কার্যকর পথ তৈরির ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করা হয়।
