Assalamualikum everyone,
First and foremost, we shower our countless duas for the brave souls of our brothers Md. Mubtasim Rahman Mahin, Md. Jubair Alam Shakib, and Mir Mozammle Hossain Naeem. We also send our heartiest prayers to their classmates, juniors, and seniors who witnessed this devastating and unfortunate event, their family members, and all the current students of IUT, asking Allah (SWT) to give them the strength and patience to overcome this difficult time and endure this grief.
It is deplorable that, even during such a difficult situation for everyone, the IUT authority and many faculty members again revealed their true faces and proved how selfish and careless they are when it comes to rightfully supporting their students. University authorities and faculty members are expected to be a safe place for the students in such dire moments. Unfortunately for the IUTians, we have always encountered cruelty and egocentrism from most of them whenever the times got rough.
The authority has completely failed to address the situation and show proper respect to our brothers who have lost their lives. It would not have taken much effort to understand the gravity of the event and take adequate steps to ensure the safety of our beloved juniors and assist them at the time of such trauma. Instead, they were seen to be shamelessly avoiding their every responsibility and even showing the audacity to place blame on the victim students instead.
These have unsurprisingly resulted in a revolution against the mistreatment that has been going on for all these years, and a call for justice and reform has been made by the current students.
We, the batch of ‘18, strongly stand with our brothers in all their rightful demands. It is time to end these for good and stand united for the students.
To the present IUTians: it’s now or never, and we are firmly with you all!
