The Department of Biomedical Engineering, Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) is pleased to recognize Aronna Biswas, an alumnus of our 2nd Batch (Session 2017–18), for his successful selection as Senior Officer (General) based on 23, 9th Grade, through the Bankers’ Selection Committee Secretariat, Bangladesh Bank, for recruitment to 11 participating banks and financial institutions. He is currently serving at Agrani Bank PLC.

The Senior Officer recruitment process is a highly competitive national-level selection process involving rigorous written and viva voce examinations and attracting a large number of candidates from across Bangladesh organising by Bangladesh Bank . His success in this demanding recruitment process reflects his perseverance, preparation, and professional capability.

It is encouraging to see our alumni building successful careers across diverse professional sectors and representing the department beyond the conventional boundaries of biomedical engineering. Aronna’s journey from BME-JUST to the banking sector also demonstrates the versatility, analytical ability, and adaptability of our graduates.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering, Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) is delighted to congratulate Hozzatul Islam Sayed, an alumnus of our 1st Batch (Session 2016–17), on his selection for the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Human Diseases Models Morphological Phenotyping (MorphoPHEN).

Funded under the European Union’s Erasmus Mundus programme, MorphoPHEN is an interdisciplinary master’s program coordinated by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain, and jointly delivered by the University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy; Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece; and University of Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal, in collaboration with leading research institutions including CEINGE – Biotecnologie Avanzate, Naples, Italy.

The program is further supported by distinguished associate partners, including the University of Copenhagen, Denmark; University of Cambridge, United Kingdom; Institute of Experimental Genetics of Helmholtz Zentrum München (IEG-HMGU), Germany; and FUJIFILM SonoSite B.V.

MorphoPHEN provides advanced training in anatomy and embryology, pathology, biomedical imaging, and deep learning, with a focus on morphological phenotyping of disease models and its application to preclinical biomedical research.

This achievement reflects the growing presence of our graduates in internationally competitive academic and research programs. The Department of Biomedical Engineering, JUST, extends its sincere congratulations to Hozzatul Islam Sayed and wishes him continued success in his academic, research, and professional journey.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering is delighted to share that our former student, Mehedi Hasan Prince (Session 2016-17), has begun his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Utah, USA.

During his time in our program, Prince showed strong academic dedication and a genuine interest in research, qualities that have clearly served him well on this journey. We are proud to see our graduates go on to pursue advanced studies and contribute to research on an international level.

Congratulations to Mridul Halder Prince on receiving the prestigious Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarship to pursue a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), India.

Representing Jashore University of Science and Technology, our very own student of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Tanzilul Hamim (Session 2022–23), proudly secured the Regional Championship of Khulna Division in the Inter-University Environmental Debate Competition organized by the Department of Environment. In addition, he was also awarded the title of "Debater of the Tournament" for his outstanding performance throughout the competition. He is now set to represent the university in the second round of the competition in Dhaka.

He was accompanied by his teammates, Asif Karim Alvi (Mathematics) and Raghib Israq (EEE), whose collective efforts led the team to this proud achievement.

Project Showcasing on BME 4200: Communication Protocols for Biomedical Instruments Sessional.

The students of 4th Year, 2nd Semester, (4-2) from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) successfully organized a project showcasing program as part of their course BME 4200: Communication Protocols for Biomedical Instruments Sessional. The event highlighted the students’ ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with real-world biomedical applications through innovative and impactful projects.

Under the supervision of Dr. Hassan Al Emran, Chairman, BME, and Anika Anjum, Lecturer, BME, the students were divided into three groups, each presenting a unique project addressing current challenges in healthcare technology. Md. Mahmudul Haque Milu, Assistant Professor, BME was also present during the poster presentation sessions. The project showcasing program served as a platform for students to demonstrate innovation, teamwork, and practical problem-solving skills. Each project reflected a strong understanding of communication protocols in biomedical systems and their real-world applications in rehabilitation, healthcare accessibility, and telemedicine.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at JUST continues to encourage such initiatives that bridge the gap between academic learning and societal impact, preparing students to become future leaders in biomedical innovation.Further details regarding each group's project are provided alongside their respective photographs.
