Batch ’18 Thesis Jury | 2025
The Department of Architecture, KUET, successfully conducted the Thesis Jury for Batch 2K18 on October 30–31 and November 1, 2025, at the URP Building . Over the three day session, graduating students presented their final thesis projects for academic evaluation.

The Department of Architecture is pleased to extend its heartfelt congratulations to our three students from Batch 2K19 ,Department of Architecture, KUET for being selected as Finalists in the UNIADA’25 International Architecture Dissertation Award.

Their dissertation project, Community-Led Housing presents an innovative rethinking of formal housing in Bangladesh through participatory and problem-centric design. By actively engaging residents in co-creation, the project addresses spatial, social, and environmental challenges while promoting adaptability and a strong sense of collective identity. It envisions housing not merely as shelter but as a resilient platform for cultural expression, social cohesion, and sustainable urban living.

The Department of Architecture, KUET, had the privilege of hosting an informative and interactive session on the AYDA Awards 2025, organized by Nippon Paint.

Ms. Anika Ahsan, Marketing Executive at Nippon Paint, conducted the session, sharing valuable insights about the competition’s vision, objectives, and submission process. Her inspiring presentation encouraged students to explore innovative, sustainable, and human-centered design ideas that align with the spirit of the AYDA Awards.

It was a highly engaging and motivating session that inspired our students to think critically, design creatively, and contribute meaningfully to shaping a better built environment.

We sincerely thank Nippon Paint and Ms. Anika Ahsan for their time, effort, and encouragement in guiding the next generation of young designers.

This significant academic event will be held on 30th & 31st October and 1st November 2025 at the URP Building, KUET campus, Khulna.
In our continuous pursuit of academic excellence, the Thesis Jury stands as a vibrant platform for intellectual exchange, critical evaluation, and meaningful dialogue among students, faculty, and distinguished professionals.
This year’s thesis projects delve into a diverse range of critical and thought-provoking themes — spanning industrialization, housing, urbanization, heritage conservation, cultural narratives, community impact, sustainability, climate resilience, adaptive reuse, and public space design — reflecting the evolving frontiers of architectural discourse and practice.

We are delighted to share that Fardin Islam, a student of Department of Architecture , Batch 2k18, has been awarded Winner (Civil Faculty) in the Eureka S/1 — 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) Challenge organized by KUET Research Society.

The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) is a unique academic challenge where participants condense their semester-long thesis into a single-slide presentation and a 3-minute speech—delivering complex research ideas in a concise and compelling way.

Fardin Islam’s thesis presentation on “Ecological Design Vision for the Barapukuria Coal Mine” impressed the multidisciplinary panel with its clarity, innovation, and impact.

We are proud of his achievement and wish him continued success ahead.
