Khulna Public College

Khulna Public College Khulna Public College Khulna Public College was established on January 20, 1987. During the war the campus was used as a camp of rival Pakistani army.

At the end of 60 decade, an academic building (present old building) was built by the erstwhile Pakistan Government with a view to establishing a secondary school. However, before getting the school started, liberation war took place in the country. After our independence the campus was being used as jail till 1983. In 1983 jail authority shifted the jail and the campus went under the authority of

Facilities Department (now Directorate of Education Engineering.). People of Khulna gradually started demanding that the campus should be used for which it was built. As a result of people's interest and cordial cooperation from the then education Minister Momin Uddin Ahmed and education secretary Kazi Azhar Ali, the institution started functioning as a secondary school on January 20, 1987 and subsequently opened college section in the same year. At first it was introduced as "Sundarban Boys' Public School"; however, after the opening of college section it was named "Sundarban Boys' Public School and College". Afterwards to give the institution its actual honor, it was named "Khulna Public College". Since its inception the institution has been following the model of famous Public Schools in United Kingdom and is likened to Dhaka Residential Model College. This institution is only for boys.
