Proud Moment for Mass Communication and Journalism Discipline
We are proud to share that Provati Das, a student of our Mass Communication and Journalism Discipline, represented Bangladesh at the 62nd Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC62), held at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland, from 15 June to 10 July 2026.
As part of this prestigious international platform, Provati participated as a representative of DALIT, Bangladesh, and took part in the IDSN (International Dalit Solidarity Network) side-event titled "Caste, Gender and Power: Dalit Voices for Justice," where she delivered a floor intervention alongside panelists and human rights advocates from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
The event, moderated by Meena Varma and featuring UN Special Rapporteurs Dr. Ashwini K.P. and Prof. Nicolas Levrat, addressed the intersections of caste, gender, and human rights across South Asia — and was later featured in an official report by Geneva Times.
This remarkable achievement reflects not only her personal dedication to human rights advocacy and journalism but also brings immense honor to our discipline and Khulna University as a whole. Her participation stands as an inspiring example for fellow students, demonstrating how the values of journalism, advocacy, and human rights can converge on a global stage.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Provati Das for this outstanding accomplishment and wish her continued success in her future endeavors!
